Going by what you were saying, it seemed as though tourists were coming too much. "Escaping", for want of a better way of putting things, from the current situation.
The current feeling on a FB page is that the shutters should be pulled down now and send them all home. You can apparently {probably} travel for work. Last time some holiday home owners decided that coming with a paint brush and a can of paint to paint something entitled them to call it work.

Travelled to Ireland in July 2001. They were questioning everyone as to where they were from and going to. Under no illusions that I might be turned back when questioned. Not willing to be the person who "brought it*" into the country.
Five miles was considered close. How times change.

During the Foot and Mouth episode our vehicle tyres and surrounding areas were disinfected before we got on a ferry in Oban.

Nice to hear you've calmed down. This I presume has nothing whatsoever to do with having "hired help" to deal with the Bogey Man.

Would Mrs M always be able to get there in time, to get the job done?

Morning??
Am fine..
an extended cycle along the canal bank today (and adjoining roads) to test out the leg seems to have gone okay....
might try a wee hill next time out but not the Anglirou or whatever it is called, maybe in December:laugh:

I'd a planned fishing trip across to Ireland,
the UK had restrictions but the south hadn't so the night before we left, Ireland announced restrictions which included no fishing so a hasty gathering and a decision was made to drink Roosky dry was made..
we failed miserably but made lots of friends...
a week of savouring Dublin's finest...

edit to add,
drove over disinfected straw at Cairnryan and Larne then stopped on the border by Garda and some official mob, tyres sprayed and our boots treated too..
think they must have noted our fishing gear which we took in case..

Did you test the other leg out as well?
Will that be next December or December next?

It's working..
I'd need a hurricane tailwind to 'help' me up a hill of that magnitude OR a sticky bottle:laugh:
Off to get the popcorn ready for this US electoral clown fest....
You can always say you tried!

You a glutton for punishment.

Morning all:hello:
Wot today?
My windows clock is 5.3 secs out..
amazing in this day of whizz bang tech, your computer clock can be all over the place..

Hell, if you can't laugh at yourself , nobody else will:laugh:
We have snow! Well, there is a covering up on Ben Chonzie anyway. The air feels colder just thinking about it. Morning donder done once the rain eased off. Wellies this morning as it's getting mucky. Don't really like walking far in them as they're not that cushioned or supportive but nice to tramp through the puddles and muck without bothering.

That'll be my recent return to mountaineering done for the next six months...
(saves the embarrassment of my calf(not the cow kind)
It is noticeably cooler, I would nip up to my wee viewpoint to the N to see but avoiding hills for a while yet.
I'll stick to the canal just now..
Didn't know the Knock you walk round is a Marilyn..
good views from the top?

Yes. They are gorgeous. I don't go up there as often as I should.

Why not!!
That it's out, shouldn't be a surprise. If the atomic clock can be wrong, what hope has your computer got.

There'll be no shortage of people willing to laugh at you. Don't worry about that.

Just saying you have snow isn't good enough. How deep?, how high(altitude) is needed as well.
That's a bit like a forecaster saying there'll be wind.

Wellies, also good for walking in the snow.

Morning??
