The roads are wet and not much sign of the sun. No reason for that to be a surprise.

Met Office predicted improved WX after 10am, wrong..

The suns come out and the day is going well.

Step 1 was getting Mrs B to her day centre. Step 2 was a mortgage consultation with the BS and I now have a decision in principle at amounts that will enable our move and get the refurbs underway as soon as we get completion.

Only thing left is a survey report and there was useful news there too. The BS have discounted rates available that would enable me to get a full structural report for very little more than the level 2 homebuyers report that I was going to get. The fuller report will give me absolute peace of mind and a useful template to work from for the planned refurbs.

This could go very well for us if the survey doesn't throw up any deal breaking nasties. Maybe there's a happy ending in sight. Keep your fingers 🤞 folks.

Just back from the new place - have to take Mrs B every day now as she can't hold the information. A great thing was that we both said that every time we visit we like it even more. It just felt great to stand in the drive and enjoy the area as the light faded and gave a lovely twilight.

I certainly have some idea of what I want. Nothing too far removed from what we have so that we can keep an air of familiarity for Mrs B to help her settle in. We'll enjoy the process of all that.

Not asked before, but do you get a sunrise/sunset in any room.

I think we will get the sunrise in the lounge and the sunset in the back bedrooms. It may not be straight on for that so I must bring a compass over to check exact orientation.

I printed a floorplan from the brochure so that I could note the electrical socket and TV aerial point locations during the viewing. It may be a good idea to print another for furniture - although we have a pretty good idea of where some things might go.
