Can’t get a decent photo these days for these pylons popping up everywhere. Hideous things. Shame it couldn’t go underground.

Couple more boxes packed. That 50m roll of bubble wrap starting to look thin and the apartment starting to look very bare. Off to do some cleaning after a

This 50m roll, is it three or four foot wide. Have you managed to re-use any a a second/third time.

Never neglect the chance of a cuppa, when working, before starting or after you've finished.

Looks like an L8 D, corner pylon. Your L6's usually taper to a "point", the L8's to a "flat edge". You can tell it's a corner pylon as the insulators are hanging horizontal, not vertically.

Looks like an L8 D, corner pylon. Your L6's usually taper to a "point", the L8's to a "flat edge". You can tell it's a corner pylon as the insulators are hanging horizontal, not vertically.

It is the south one to the other I posted the other day,
I suppose I better go and create a spreadsheet and see how many types I can find
Hopefully it'll help me pylon the miles......groan

I find those wind turbines, in the background, a bigger eyesore. That, and they can sound lousy up close(1/4 mile). Many of them are already coming to the end of their lifetime. They corrode near the base, due to being designed for warmer, dryer climate's.

The longer arm on the outside as well. My eye was drawn to the one beyond the wind turbine, making me miss the wire direction on the pylons far side.

My dad was a draughtsman for a few years and he designed some of the parts of the more common pylons.

One of my favourite views near my apartment in the Breisgau: you cant see them on the pic but I once counted thirty wind turbines on those hills in the distance:
