Same here. You are down before you know it, and it hurts! I am even much more nervous walking/jogging if it’s at all slippy now too.
Have you tried a pair of these?
The two front spikes can come in handy if someone gets in your way.

Lol. I am clumsy enough and trip over my own feet without a big spike sticking out the front! I do actually have a pair of ice grippers plus a pair of running shoes that have little metal ice studs if it gets really bad.
A swift kick up the rear of the person who got in your way would help ease your way through, and they'd remember you.

Could be handy when going to the supermarket.

You suffered a reet bad 'un as well,
I'd one on an old 250 in the pouring rain when I hit diesel on a cobbled corner, the bike went down and I skidded for about 20 metres sitting upwards. Bloke in the car behind was heartily laughing and said it just looked so funny.
I just headed on my way to hospital (I was going to visit me dad).
Went down once on ice and ashes at an entrance to a Willie Low car park and presented myself to Mrs M who had a fit at my manky ripped breeks..
Not the thing to find funny but I'm not wanting to repeat any time again

You just take care, auld yin:whistle:
You should have gone, they may have paid.

Carry on, doing what exactly?
I dunno, just carry on...
Give yer bones a jet wash or something...

You coming or going, or uncertain as to which?

Light snow in the early hours, sun out now, goodbye fresh snow.
That dichotomy was triggering in my mind from a few days back, basically, as we got more done in the new place I began to wonder which place to call 'home'!

Our main furniture items are due to be moved on Wednesday so we stay in the new place overnight from then. That date will be good for both of us, not least Mrs B who still doesn't understand that we are moving. Most people think dementia is just a bit of memory loss but it goes so much deeper into the persons cognitive abilities. It's been a testing time for both of us.

The thing I cling to is that every time we sit for a break, and get a chance to look around and 'feel' the house, we both love it. I have no doubt that this is a great move for us.

I might get talking to my 'refurb project manager' tonight as there was some talk of a builder visiting tomorrow for a walk through to see what needs doing and prepare some ideas & quotes. Maybe the kitchen/bathroom people will be able to do the same this week. I also hope to hear from the asbestos survey people, with a date for the survey. Things may move quickly from this week.

Oh, and the Day Centre opens again this week so I'll have more time to work.

I remember being on a navigation course many years ago and everyone went for a fell run when the lectures ended. The Mournes had a fair covering of ice and snow, which everyone but me chose to ignore - I went the longer, ice free, way up and down the fell. Always pays to respect ice, snow, or fog!:okay: A few scrapes were suffered by some of the others.

I've used crampons. You need a good boot for those things.

Mo, it's "take care", me it's "give yer bones a jet wash". I'll remember...

How'd the bikes fare?

*Then we're all over to yours on Thursday!

"Refurb project manager"?
You mean that's not yourself doing that job. "I guess anywhere you live is home"
