Think it was an increase in the number of younger drinkers (ab)using the pub patrons that finished the local one.

First taste of satellite TV came in the late '70's. Watching some of the drag racing live from America.

Just checked the price, how long do you think you'll be saving for?

Happened across this one, sale price!
m IC-7851 - TRANSCEIVER
£9,999.98 from Radioworld UK
+£20.00 delivery
That's a bit too rich for me, phew!
I know, spend just under 10 grand AND £20 delivery,
good company to deal with, I have bought a couple of my radios from them,
I honestly can't justify spending the money for that radio as my location isn't that VHF and upwards friendly.
I'd like to try the microwave frequency on it though,
might think on a converter as I have a more portable HF?VHF/lower UHF radio..
I'll think about it, I could carry it all in my back pannier...

anyway, 60 mins to the start of a 162 game rounders season^_^

Bit too much for missen, just showed in results for the one you mentioned.

This microwave frequency stuff, could you use it to cook a meal if needed.

Nearer 50 minutes now!
Enjoy

'Evening folks.

I hope you are in fine fettle.

Been both busy and under too much stress lately so haven't looked in at the thread.

We are just slowly getting bits of work done so nothing exciting to report.

Wondered how you were doing. Yourselves and workwise on the new place.

You been playing with your toys again!

Yes, playing with the lawn raker and lawnmower. There is so much moss in the lawns that I think if I pilled it high the mound might qualify as a munro:laugh:.

The tiles have been part removed in the bathroom and we have the new shower and units in the garage - the installation will be after the long Easter weekend - in NI we stay open on Good Friday and close on the Monday and Tuesday(always thought it was a funny arrangement for a place where we feud so much about religion).

We're still waiting for news about the kitchen but I've had a painter in to look at the decorating job and I'm waiting for a quote. The painter has been doing work for our neighbour for years so he knows the layout as the bungalows are identical. I had a quick peek at some of his recent work and it looks good enough. The guy is happy to do the place in sections as we get it ready so that will take the bad look off some of the rooms sooner that I thought. Our replacement windows for the back of the house are ready and they might be going in next week too.

When we had the rewire done one of the young lads asked if I wanted a light at the front end of the garage as well as replacing the existing light at the back - to which I agreed. A couple of days ago I discovered he also put an extra double socket at the front - which I thought was good of him as it saves running an extension lead out to the drive. Little improvements.

The neighbours continue to be lovely and yesterday we found a Thornton's Easter egg and a bag of mini eggs on the doorstep! That felt like the Easter Bunny had paid a visit - turned out to be the lady to the left of us and she told me she gives eggs to all the houses at the top of the hill every year. How nice is that?

We also have a 2nd cat calling by at tea time - word that we give out cat biscuits seems to be getting around:laugh:. I think the 2nd cat may be feral as he is very unsure of people and quick to hiss and scratch. He's also a complete tomcat and that is unusual in these parts. The supposed feral in a nice all black fella so it'll be interesting to see if he tries to adopt us.

Mrs B has continued to deteriorate and doesn't always know me. A new thing was trying to put gloves on her feet, instead of socks, when we were getting ready to go out a while back. What to wear is an increasing problem for her, however, she isn't in distress as she seems to be oblivious to almost everything these days, ho hum!

As I said, lots happening and lots of stress.

Work has slowed to a more standard pace then.

Are you saying that your next door neighbour is the Easter Bunny!! I'm assuming Kris Kringle is your neighbour on the other side in that case. Any reindeer about?

New windows!!
What was wrong with the old ones?
Will you be using the old ones for a cold frame.

Did you have trouble getting on here earlier?

The old windows had some damage to the frames so I thought I may as well replace them. The widows were still keeping the elements out but when we had high winds one of the frames made a noise like there was a swarm of hornets inside and that was the room I hope to sleep in so the window had to go. I don't think my interest in gardening will ever stretch to things like cold frames

No reindeer - we don't even see/hear dogs on the hill - just cats, which suits us fine.^_^

You hope to sleep in. You've not sorted that out yet!

Is there a bigger cat, you've yet to see, keeping the dogs at bay. If so get something ready for it, should you see it.

Sleep is still an issue. What is to be my bedroom was out of commission for a couple of weeks due to boxes and furniture being moved in for the rewire and plastering jobs. I've only got my turbo frame set up again in there during this last week(it was nice to get back on the bike). Nights are tough as when I leave my wife she tends to wake and get anxious, then start wandering the house looking for her, now deceased, parents. When she's in that state it's hard to reassure her because she doesn't always know me so it's easier for me to help her by staying with her and being able to settle her back down before the wandering starts. It's going to be a tough one for me to sort as my sleep gets wrecked so I end up getting stressed. At her last telephone consultation the Consultant suggested anti psychotics but those meds can produce their own issues and I don't want to start her on them unless we are at a last resort stage. There isn't anything easy about things and I do struggle. Even the day care centre has closed for an extra period over Easter due to a staff shortage so I'm not getting a break.

As to the cats, we have met a very large feline when out walking, but he's just a friendly big bruiser of a moggy. I doubt that he would be scaring the dogs, although he looks big enough not to be scared by them either! There are plenty of dogs in the area but they are all small breeds and none of them live on the hill. The hill does isolate us, even though it's small. As soon as you get to the bottom of the hill you are on a through road with plenty of people, dogs and traffic but none of that is either seen or heard from our location at the top of the hill. The road curves across the top of the hill and where we are prevents us seeing down the hill itself - we just look out over the rooftops of the town(it's a great location).^_^

I'm ignorant of the condition, and trying to read up on it doesn't help. Not everything about a condition is textbook*, so I've stayed away from it rather than insult you. Probably not helped you by doing this. I'd say the change of location has it's own part to play on the brain, old memories coming back and forgotten just as quick.

On the medication front, I've been on a few that are now used for other conditions, and it's no fun "not being there" because of them. Might quieten the brain activity, but removes any resemblance of the person. One left me feeling unsafe doing anything and was quickly stopped, by me.

On the cat front, I was thinking large cat. Possibly an escapee from a zoo. Not just a bigger version of your everyday household type.

We need a nighttime picture of your view over the town. Words are one thing, but a picture says more.

Nowt interesting found when you had the carpets lifted. Old newspapers, with what seem odd stories today, that sort of thing.

*Personal experience on/with a different condition has proved this much.

I'll take this chance to warn you chocolate can kill. So never place it above head height, or eat too much of it(Eating your own bodyweight in chocolate, in one sitting, is said to be lethal).

No Easter Bunny for you this year, it seems as though blue has her as a neighbour. Travel restrictions and all that.

Morning??
