Been there twice, once on a break and the other on a cycle around the island..
explanation below^_^

Trying a contest today,
not competitive enough
but I need 50.000 kms for a certificate

I'm sitting on....

48,905
got until midnight tomorrow (I think)
We once did a hat for there as a special request from the "Welsh Baker" we had then. Too long for the electronics to cope with so it had to be done by hand so not economically viable. Interesting exercise tho'.

I've tried many a time to pronounce it, a cracking gift shop where my missus could be found when i was circumnavigating the island:laugh:
the nearby train station has the classic sign but the shop one I think is the best
Memorable that day for the strongest head winds I've ever cycled in, no hiding
Morning all :hello:

Back running again..
I'm happy with what I have although maybe next time a bit more serious:laugh:
It's more fun this first one,
it's an older data mode,
a change from the usual wham, bam, tnx ones..
Interesting on FR24 about plane traffic, see most tracked flights panel..
Just passed the 100, 000 kms mark^_^
Going to have a break..
Nice day out..

Stand easy..

It's a strong headwind when you've to pedal down a 45° hill, just to keep going forwards.

You've done close on 50,000 kilometres in the morning!! Running or cycling?
You've earned your break. Feet up and have refreshments brought as and when required.
I'd sit easy if I were you.

I finally achieved just over 116,000 kms^_^
Log sent off to the organisers,
hope I got it done correctly:blush:

It was on probably the flattest part of Anglesey:laugh:
Bob is not aerodynamic

Owdo

60,000 kilometres in a day, round a tiny island, is some going.
What happens if the organisers disagree with you. Back down to Anglesey to start again?

Round the coastline?

Morning??

I did that island in an odd way, I'd split it into a 3 day cycle, I did what I perceived the hilliest part on day one but did what i had proposed for day three on day two then finished on day two on day three, I think:laugh:
All fueled on Premier Inn eat all you can brekkies:laugh:
Off for a cuppa, I've confused myself..

they have sent a confirmation so hopefully all is okay..

All that on just the one "All you can eat, Premier Inn breakfast". How much did you eat, was day one actually day two, having let yer breakfast settle first.

You're running dry, get yer drink, sit back and enjoy in the knowledge that you're done.

I remember regretting an Asda brekkie special...
I should have let it digest before attempting the longest climb I've ever done on a bike...
asda.jpg

I did step down twice... 55 mins moving time...add on two stops including photo break at the loch , KOM is just 20 mins( I was 69 mins:laugh:)
so good I had one the next day:laugh:
No coffee and cake for Bob:cuppa:

Talk about food.....

We often used to have to pedal downhill coming from Glencoe area going south towards Rannoch Moor.

That climb up from Ft Augustus is certainly brutal. I never ever managed to cycle the whole way up.

Not whilst yer cycling at least. You'll spill the coffee and drop the cake.
What if we were to arrange to have both waiting for you at the top. Do you think they'd inspire you to pedal a bit quicker?

There was only yourself talking of food.

I'm not the only one:laugh:
I pedalled slowly out of Fort Augustus and saw a white van heading up the first part and oh *something* was my thought. I intended to head up over the Great Glen way but I met a couple of mountain bikers who said take the back road to Inverness instead. Nice run into Inverness though

Now a fish supper might work better:laugh:

Bike up on the stand earlier,
just checking a couple of things,
front wheel rotor looking a bit sad looking...

You're that slow!
Set off in the morning, arrive in time for a fish supper!

Maybe a couple of rocket packs mounted to your bike. Might help, can't hurt to try it. Unless they come loose...

Goodness Bob, yer late..
naughty step for you:cuppa:

Anyhoo, hello folks:hello:

That was hot work out there,
the last six was stopping every so often to stop my eyes stinging..
I headed home knowing a cold beer was waiting on me...
and it was good....
I'll resist the urge to have another:laugh:
