Good morning:hello:
Thought I'd see what life is like early doors..
It's just the same only darker:laugh:
Too early for brekkie though...

Make a contact once per mode per band unless you are John in Bologna who just calls everybody every day, think it could be sympathy on my daily efforts.
I log everything, it's not the logging as it is more making sure it is all backed up:ohmy:

Dry, mild as daybreaks
Owdo
Was it worth the wait?
Much the same as you say, less light being the main difference. Did you see the sunrise?
Never too early, you just wait longer for seconds.

Only contact the same person once. Things really have changed since I last used one. You could speak, actual words, to another person and even "arrange" to meet "same place, same time" again.
Four out of the ten houses behind us had ariels for radio use. Who knows, one may have moved to Bologna.
Dry here overnight and so far. Slightly overcast.

You'll not be making a habit of the early hours will you?

Nah, it was just the same only darker outside:laugh:

I can work anyone anytime but once per band, per mode although repeats are common.
So many options....
data modes help ones like me who don't have big massive antenna systems.
I run low power (QRP) and it helps too.

Nice out, get some garden stuff done later..
We have whitefly so just treated a couple of infested plants, time to stick marigolds next to them....

Lunch calls..
oh, and 3 numbers last night so may dine like a king ..
Surfeit of Lampreys anyone:laugh:

Were you expecting something else?
Try daylight hours, on an overcast day, with sunglasses. See how that compares to the early hours. Or sunglasses in the early hours!

No preplanned "meets" then.
Define "large", for me its something in the garden, not in/on the house.
I realise things have got smaller over the years, but I still see the odd one in the garden.

You take yer gardening seriously, I mean marigolds...

Was the call loud enough for yer.
You might have enough for a bar, maybe even two, of chocolate. Enjoy yer winnings.

owdo the noo

It's those recent early starts to blame.
If you "bag" one, will it work again?
You'll have your card cutout of a slice of bread to try in the toasters?
How old was the one that died. Just over any guarantee period is normal.
Have you tried Argos.
Happy hunting...

Argos, Sainsbury, Tecso now Morrisons with possible success...
Anyone with a brain designing a toaster for UK use surely use the dimensions of the UK most popular toastie bread, no?..
ours will be mostly home baked bread but occasionally a orange toastie loaf is bought..

we got the last one the day we moved in here so it was a cheapo which was used almost every day..
I love my toast....

Better go prepare for the whirlwind that is Beag:ohmy:

They design them to look good now, function might come secondary if you're lucky.
And bread slices have gotten smaller over the years as well.

No grill you could use, 'til you find a toaster?

You keep an eye on him now.

All sorted, management got one:ohmy:
He was quiet today, helped me do some plant work..
:cuppa:
Watching a prog on the WW2 and a bit about Anderson Shelters,
I remember as a yunk spending nights out sleeping in one..
Glad it was in peacetime though....
My bro was born 13 years before and lived through the war, must have been horrific.

You can still have yer toast then.
He'll be planning summat. Maybe putting yer beans in upside down. Or he's been told about Jack and the beanstalk.

Large one nearby went years ago. About the only one I knew off in this area.

Yunk, young kid?

Yunc, aye!
We were still sipping beer in it inn our mid teens:cuppa:
I imagine the corrugated will have well rotted by now...
The main rail link used by the MIL was just under 100 yds away, Greenock was a main entry point for anything coming across from NA,
I'd an interesting email exchange a few years with a NYer who's Dad came across to get transferred to the front but as he had been a longshoreman in NY and he got kept to organise the unloading and loading.

Dentist tomorrow...
Toodlepip!

Out of sight of everyone, safe n'sound, and dry to boot.
Think that may have been what happened to the one nearby, along with the Walrus that was parked nearby. Taken(nicked) for scrap value.
You've. never been back to check, I take it?

He'd not have needed as much training, so makes sense. Surprised he wasn't made a cook, or summat similar.

The double extraction, with the second more painful than the first. Can you shorten your arms?

Good morning folks:hello:

Plants all fed....
passer by asks 'why water if it has been raining?'
'I'm feeding them, less stress for them if they have wet roots'
Still a look of 'Whit?'..

Owdo, big trip today.

Perfectly understandable question, and disbelieving looks.

Ready for WW III, you mean. Whenever that looked likely to kick off, Cuban missile crisis and other such events.
He'll have worked in rougher places.

Only thirty bob, Bob. T'aint too bad.

I paid 30 bob less,
I'd ponied up last visit which I didn't know...
November next visit:becool:

WW3?
to save face I wouldn't be surprised if today's aggressors take it a stage further..

waiting on an explosion heading up Mount Etna, the peloton just cruising until they meet the long climb up....
Italy's architecture is just so amazing:cuppa:

Beag is due in mins so I'll pause it......

Sunny with heavy showers around lunchtime plus breezy..

Bob came home with 30 bob more than expected!
Paid too much, you weren't feeling well at the time?

Anderson shelter not much use then.

Get tired just watching their efforts.

Pause, take stock of what you can do, and possibly get out on the bike.

Tried raining here earlier, but came to nowt.
