They napped late today...
Mrs M was guard on duty...
Still high on her earlier news..
Her and our daughters have done the Davis Cup thing for a few years but never the Wombles place....
so......I'm happy for her

Four days of peace? not for me..

Nah, it wasn't doing well so I just stopped it.
The website I go the model from is run by one of the top makers and quite likely I got their 'settings' when I sliced it. It has much more efficient settings and speeds compared to my budget printer, I'm going to look into slowing the speed down using program settings before it creates the final model to print.
You were lucky then, less for you to do. Leaving you with time to do other things.
Has she come back down to earth yet?
Whe they go, how long will you be left to your own devices. Or will a list be left for you.
Any favourites for her that you know about, that you could have a bet on with her.

Four days! Who's paying for where they'll be staying.
You'll find something to keep you occupied, four days will fly by...
What, if anything can be done with the waste. From prints that don't go right to the supports/excess cut off when cleaning bits up.
Their printer probably cost ten times what yours cost. And take up more room than you have available.
Slowly, slowly, catches wormee...

WHO? who do you think:eek:
I did say my treat....
The funny thing was that she took the call from our youngest and thought she had said she had entered the ballot..
then she was told I got two tickets, a shout of joy...
Cue daughter dad phone call..
A small price  to pay for three days (really 4) peace...

I will go find something I can test, my go-to slicing program has updated recently with so-called upgrades that were foisted on us..
It's the printer maker's programme too...
Oh boy.
I'm trying the same job on two slicer progs, so we'll see which hopefully does the best...
I have thought of upgrading, but why when what I have still works....and I'm not printing as much.
I'd spent the weekend looking at a big monitor that I could run two towers on, better wait, Bob:cuppa:
The waste isn't that much, but you can recycle it, but for what is created, cheaper just to buy more filament.

Now let me guess that one...
Eek, is that bad?
Could you tell them there's been a recount on the ballot, and neither got enough votes. And it's now being recounted.
Or that you're thinking of selling your tickets!
Four days on tha tod, will you manage.

Updates, did they give any warning they were planning updates before they happened.
If what you have works(updates permitting), and does what you want, why "upgrade" to a bigger machine. I'd want a decent trade-in on the current one to make it worth it my while. Otherwise you end up with a printer you don't use, just sat there.
Wait until you're on yer own to get it delivered. Then say it's been there a while should it be noticed on their return.
Not that many prints that go wrong then. More of a general question as regards plastic waste than owt else.

My life would not be worth living if I did anything to that ticket...
She's still floating on air...

Yeah, use what I have, it does its thing..
I did the two pieces, and one was 99%. The other finished looking weird, so it's in the bin now. Another is being done with different temperatures and settings. It's 90 minutes (hopefully) to go; it could be the filament. If no joy this time, I'll try another PLA or even the same PLA as the 'Cura'(slicing prog) first print..
Creality is a quicker program, but speed isn't everything, though.
I may go retro and uninstall the latest update if I kept the previous update.
It normally just integrates the newer update onto the original settings but hey?
I had tried getting a 3d piece taken from a photo but something didn't come out right, I may revisit that.
I've a few reels with not much PLA on them to use for test pieces...
I have one test piece which will let me know if I've got it back to normal..
I will have a look at other 'slicers'....
Okay
Yer know there's plenty of odd folk out there, you are not alone!
Me, odd ?
Eccentric, maybe

What's the worst that could happen?
I take it she'll be getting to see someone she likes playing...
It'll save cleaning the floors I suppose. Although any footprints will be yours.

Never even bothered looking at the prices of a newer, faster, fancier model.
Under the hour by now then, if your calculations are correct. Still looking okay?
Updates don't always make work better for the person using the thing though.
Just as well you kept the drivers that worked.
Gotta see this 3D photo print, if you pull it off.
Yer lucky cat?
"Slicers"?

T'were you that said you were odd.
Eccentric, possible...

Happen? she does most of the cooking...
(refuse if it smells of almonds)..
3x games promised (Court 1 - it has a roof)
I got a fair few lucky cats....

Aye, think I had the two parts maybe too close but will try again tomorrow morning, I'm happy with the print

You'd be cautious if beef wellington was served up.
Not a fan of the smell of Almonds...
Roof could come in handy.
They still feel lucky?

Two parts too close... better luck tomorrow.
And that's who you need to keep happy.

First print with a new program?
I'll take that...
I'll run another test later...
It did mention support for that print, but the other two programs printed without any problem without them.

I checked the layout but nope, not the layout which could cause the slight problem..
one side of one piece had it on the left and the other got it on the right?
I'll do a single side again...

Came off alright?
Someone has to...
Any changes for the second test piece...
These supports required for faster printing?

Were they in the same place when placed together, given they were on opposite sides when printing.
Has it worked?
