£22 ? it was a pool type thing...percentage of entry fee ..
Won two flyfishing competitions, ironically at the same place, only fished the place twice too, possibly the best? I won a place in a national stillwater competition through 3 qualifiers (trout fishing), I'll keep my experience to myself..... but it never involved fish. Sponsored by a national brewery, eyes lit up when the lorry drew up and started unloading case after off..they gave us two cans, I wonder what they did with the rest of it, I said no thanks, someone had to be at it.

I use the UnUn and wire not the pole....I keep meaning to add a certain length of wire to it to see what happens, it works..
Must be near 30 contacts today..
I'd too much on my plate today,
even busier tomorrow..awfy busy..
The advantage of this antenna it can be 'hidden', I know folk who use something like it but it goes up a downpipe, stealth at its best...
Off to log..
Still seems an odd amount as a prize, but I never paid into the pot or took part.
Two competitions same locations and you finished twice. Were the same fish caught twice. Fishing competition where fish were not involved. Sounds a bit like some Irish ones I've seen. Sponsored by a national brewery, was it at least a Scottish owned one?
Maybe they were letting the fish have a drink, make them easier catch.

If you don't use the pole, what's it actual role?
A certain length, any particular length in mind...
Near 30 contacts, a bit of a daily difference...
Maybe get a bigger plate, fit more on it. Then you'll just need more time to get through it all.
Awfy busy, again! I thought you were supposed to be taking things easy still.
Fella four doors on had one on the outside of one of the downpipes on a house. Black on black meaning it didn't stand out too much. You'd to look twice to be certain it wasn't just the downpipe.
Logging done...

Good morning from a sunny but cool Towers :hello:
A delivery has been received, the takeaway one is later..
Polly has been up on the stand and been fettled a wee bit more, who knows, soon?
Local birds opened the food bin again, those ravens are bright birds...
Starlings and jackdaws swept up the remaining noodles, I stood and watched them, well it saved me a sweep but I did hose it down...
The ole currant is streaming through these blinds, too dark with a blackout curtain, methinks..
If you can't be good? be bad.......

Owdo from a wet West Riding, although the sun does try occasionally to break through.
A question if I may. I realise you're not in Southern California, but why when you asked for any spare rain to be sent your way(Each and every Highway) was it returned to sender. Were it the wrong sort or summat?
Ooh another delivery, owt good or just the usual... The takeaway, Indian or Chinese?
Maybe polly knows but she's not letting on until she released from solitary, and allowed onto that newish cycle track/path near you.
There's been reports of tools(twigs and suchlike being used) seen being used to get jobs done.
Noodles, were there oodles of them to attack.
No need for hosepipes down here, Mother Nature is doing a fair enough job on her own.
The Ole Currant Bun isn't making much of an effort round these parts. Blackout blinds not required at present.
Oh I can be bad, so much easier than trying to be good all day.

The pole is only for support as I was using it as a vertical...
the wire can be any direction, a sloper, horizontal or vertical..
They all have their advantages, I prefer horizontal as it can a bit less noise level plus it more suitable pour moi.....
Anyway..

Early, early start as new bed arrived, old one dismantled and stored until Friday pickup, youngest Mhor presently doing the bed building exercise. The pickup has picked up, Bob has gardened, trough waiting to be filled with some compost then I'll plant it up...
The number contacts are mostly on how much time the radio is on, I've 8 so far today...but limited time.
My last Towers, had a half wave dipole cut for 40m up since 1981 and no one ever mentioned, plastic coated wire the same colour as downpipe. Tucked in at the back, eight ounce lead weight at bottom of both end...

I'm on making lunch so poodletip....

I'm not far from California, less than 10 miles?
Takeaways through here not the same quality as our last tip....
Just a handful of noodles (our fave chinese is a 40 mins round trip plus waiting time......)

So, where in that picture is your wire.
A "sloper" giving you the best of both vertical and horizontal worlds, in theory...
Each to their own on things like this.
Anyway!

You should have slept on the sofa last night, having taken it down yesterday. Or did you want one last sleep in yer old bed. You did the disassembly of the old one, once evryone had finished using it. New bed better than the old, or straight replacement. Meaning no reclining sleeping position for you and no built in coffee maker. has the pickup gone...
What's tha planning on planting this time.
Stands to reason really, if it's not on you can neither send nor receive. No more quiet days all to yourself?
Setup sound similar. There's only the one that really stands out, and I've posted pictures of that one.

Did the chef keep their job after making lunch...

I'm about the same distance from Egypt and Scotland. With the Wailing Wall even closer.
Wouldn't trust the local takeaways. Don't think we've any on a tip though...
A handful, still required the hosepipe though.
