Literally did LOL to this.

I know! Me too! It was the "presented itself as a cross between constipation and Zoolander" bit that got me.

We'll try it out on tomorrow's ride, Bridgy you in?
Bridgy is too quick for me atm, he rinsed me on the handicap.
If you're in good form Kipster, and I don't bring my A game, you'll leave me for dead too mind. Your are consistently slightly quicker than me.

I'll have a go at this one today Geoff. Not sure I can better my quickest time though as my average power was up there with the best of my goat rides. It'll be different to have a steady climb and should be good for the guys with classics and Vertex's. Looking forward to riding this next tuesday:smile:

Just done it having challenged my quickest time from last year. So it was a red me against a green me and LBHIFI's ghost was there to. So the bottom line was that I got my 4ss kicked by myself and LB who seemed to be within a second of each other the whole way I came in well over 2 minutes behind having found it a tough ride with no let up.
I then remembered that I and LB both had our old pro units which were really black classics with a different support frame. They obviously went quite a lot quicker as we both knew and although no slingshots or hyperspace thingys they were quicker uphill. Don't know about you Lars but I'd quite like my old machine back .
So please use todays ride for my handicap @gbrown which was 28:39. Thanks.

I have spent today at a conference about Mental Capacity Assessments. Imagine the most bored you have ever been. Now multiply that by the biggest number you can think of and at the same time drive sharpened pencils into your thighs. This is how enjoyable my day has been however it was made better and I did actually and properly LOL after surreptitiously checking my phone and reading today's comments. Thank you everyone for making my woeful day slightly more bearable.

It also wasn't a great course for drafting - too short and too lumpy! I'm always happy to try a bit of drafting though if the opportunity arises but it's hard to predict how a race is going to pan out

Next weeks Handicap Chase is a new one, http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/176281?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

I've got a handful of times from last Spring, but it would help set initial handicaps if as many of you as possible give it a go before the start of next week, especially you @BILL S :okay:

It's quite different to the previous chases, as it is a pretty steady climb, but averaging around 2% and never more than 6%. For all but the very fastest, it is ideal for improving fitness levels as it takes a little over 30 minutes and gives an ideal gradient for producing power.

Thanks,

Geoff

Edit: It's impressive how much you guys have improved since last April...

Edit2: Bill, you did have the record for this course, but were pipped by 15 seconds yesterday! I expect you'll be aiming to put that right over the next few weeks... :training:
Yeah have done it now to set a handicap time. Took 6 hours but did stop at a pub half way round for a couple of hours so in the interests of being fair I think about 4 hours for me would be an appropriate handicap setting time.

Your garage sounds very much like mine. Packed to the rafters with impulse buys like 10ft parasols, tents, garden furniture and other outdoor equipment. Sometimes I forget I live in Wales, where if there's one thing you can safely rely on, it's 4 months of hard winter, followed by 8 months of sh*t weather.
I fitted a new electric roller door to our garage this year, and was amazed at how quickly I utilised the extra space that once needed to be left clear for my old up and over to work.
Did ask the missus if I could store my tools in the caravan, but got 'the look'.
I can only assume she has the space reserved for a ton of her crap.
13 bikes and a bike trailer to carry 6 of them in there does tend to get raised at annual moan at Soarerv8 about the state of the garage committee meetings.
