I am not sure if I can take part tomorrow and perhaps for some time. It seems my niggling knee injury is probably ITBS and I have been referred for physio. Its really frustrating because although painful when walking and especially so when climbing stairs it presents no pain let alone discomfort to me when cycling. Its only hours after riding that I am aware my knee is more tender and the other symptoms more pronounced.I have been careful not to commute because its stop start and foot down so risking tweaking the knee so mileage is down but bkooling seems to be fine. Anyone else had ITBS and if so any tips on recovery? Its more of a runners injury by the looks of it but i don't run.

Sorry to hear that Bob. I've no experience of that sort of injury but I hope you recover sooner rather than later. :hugs: Will miss you in the leagues as it looked like we'd be having some close tussles this winter!

Hope it gets better soon Bob. Don't know if I have the same but my knees are the weakest link these days and getting quite painful on some of these goat and chaingang rides. No pain when off the turbo though so probably not what I have. I had to look up ITBS and although mainly runners it seems to affect cyclists too. Maybe you need to keep going on the turbo to keep up fitness but limit your watts output.

Sounds like you're worse than me too Bill.
I've always had dodgy joints so had to give up any high impact sport a few years back. Cycling seems to agree with me ok, but since taking up squash a month ago my legs have been getting dull pains again - ordered two knee supports to see if that can help me cope on court. If not, back to just cycling and some circuit training.

Ta Both of you.
I might just give tomorrows league ride a go so i can report accurately to the physio! Fortunately "working" from home tomorrow so i can turn the pedals over lightly at some point and see how it goes before making a decision. Problem is like most of us here i am fiercely competitive on the bike....
I don't want to miss out on an exciting winter of bkooling especially with everyone seemingly making great progress and some very fit newcomers making their presence known:smile:

Moose League Stage - Trbovije-cece-podmeja sio :bicycle:

Last week was my first attempt on this stage and I lost my connection 0.4 from the end and @JLaw kindly calculated a guestimated end time, and accepted that on the stage rankings.

Last night, the fool that I am, I had another attempt on this stage, and my time was about 3 minutes slower than last week's ride.

In fairness to the rest of the competition could someone accept last night's ride, and replace the 'guestimate' in the rankings.

I think I was battling against hurricane Desmond last night as both my cadence ( 76 v 73) and average power (234 v 206) were higher than my first attempt. I must be missing something as I thought that would indicate an improvement, and I certainly didn't climb off with anything left in the tank. :cursing:

Surely the missing 0.4 miles could not account for the difference.

Blimey, listen to us, sound like 3 old codgers comparing war injuries!
Of course, it could all be a ruse to make everyone think we are easy pickings on the league rides;)

Don't think there is any way to do this!

Part of Bkools inability to delete anything, once a league session is accepted it can't be altered!

The only way to compensate would be to ensure a future session needed validation for some reason, and then get the admin to add the extra seconds to that session.

In reality, not worth the effort. As you say, it is doubtful that the 0.4 miles could account for the difference, more likely that you just had a little less energy the second run?

Cheers,

Geoff

Damn Ryan, I just got a few minutes there, patting my own back for being able to hold back a real mountain goat up a mountain. I must have made you mad...bettering my time by 3½ minutes :notworthy:.
And then comes Pro-Minator and beats your time.
AAAC 76C Pro-minator, a watt/kg rate like that puts you in pro continental category...do you race in real life?
Hi Lars , it was just your unlucky day , I come home from work yesterday feeling really strong after driving a wagon all day and not delivering parcels all day as usual . And was going to give the chain gang everything . Then I got a message saying u had beat my time by 25 sec . So I give toaster course all I had .... Sorry .

I cant get any Moose rides to come up under the league tab. GRRRRRRRR

Challenge someone from the results page.

Tried that but either I did it wrong or it hasnt worked. Even when I tried again it doesn't come up in the league tab. Is there any other way of having the ride qualified?
@JLaw it was Sa Calobra - Coll de Cals Reis If you can help.

I'm having trouble getting a T100 session up in the league tab. I want to do Malham Cove. I have copied it to my schedule. It is showing in my schedule, but way down the list. There are about 16 events before it. The prior events are all goat/moose/T100 league events that I am a member of..

I do not want to drop out of any leagues and lose the hard work done there  But I have dropped out of the cyclechat group and the goats as
I had no sessions done there, this moved Malham up 2 or 3 spots. I am still one or 2 sessions over what will be displayed for me. :cursing:

I've done 3 of the very short, bury yourself, sprint length T100 stages, my legs and lungs did not like that at all xx( . I'll just have to save the legs for tomorrow evening:training: :bicycle::smile:

Yes, I was "treated" for ITBS about 5 years ago, brought about by too much football in my youth but so painful with any impact activity especially running and walking downhill. The physio in the hospital, that I saw for about 6 months actually recommended cycling to strengthen the knee, with no impact and take pressure off the ITB. I was given a dynaband type thing to stretch the knee and also strengthen the muscles all around it but couldn't be *rsed! My fault. I still have major issues with my knee but hardly ever when I'm cycling thankfully. Get a specialist to have a look and don't do what I did, ie. Ignore their advice. Hope it gets better soon Bob.
