I've just been updating the FAQ and noticed on the Bkool website that the Bkool One appears to support Bluetooth Smart as well as ANT+.
  • Requires an ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart sensor to connect to the simulator
  • * The device on which the simulator is installed (PC, MAC, iPad or Android) must have an ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart receiver.
This implies that the simulator can link using Bluetooth to at least the Bkool One, and possibly to other Bluetooth smart trainers?

Can anyone confirm this, as users of Bluetooth Trainers might be able to dispense with the ANT+ dongles, which would be especially nice for anyone using an iPad.

Answering my own question (bad form) ...

The Bkool One is not a smart trainer, so I would guess it is only picking up the speed via bluetooth!

I don't suppose the smart trainer link works via bluetooth!

I've been feeling dizzy lately every time I get up off the sofa quickly. First this was worrying and the first google info I found stated that it meant I had more chance of getting heart disease. Then I refined my googling and it seems this is happening to a lot of cyclists and runners who have been training a lot. I think resting heart rate has been mentioned here recently and it's related to the resting heart rate getting very low when relaxed and not having enough pressure to pump the blood through the brain when you stand up suddenly and it has to work against gravity. It doesn't last long though as the heart responds to the additional pressure required. Must be a few on here training hard so wondering if anyone else is getting this. Apparently some people have blacked out completely in this situation.

Had this exact situation a month or two ago Bill. I could have written your post as it's identical to how I felt and I found the same conclusion. I believe it's nothing to worry about though.

Unless it persists and occurs more often :headshake:. Get a blood pressure check.

My rhr avg over 7 days has been 47. 43-53. I have, in the past, had the head rush when standing quickly from seated :hyper:, be it from a chair or floor due to work. But have learnt to not be in such a hurry to get up and going .

That's very low tb. your training must be working wonders. You may find this comes back as your fitness progresses further.
I recently had my over 50's check and everything came back good so probably not worth any further checking right now.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't get worse or I black out completely. I do tend to get up far too quickly from being very relaxed so I probably could prevent it from happening.

I too get this Bill, have done for years. I have even passed out. Getting up from the loo of all places:blush::ohmy: Interestingly, given i am only riding 3 times a week at the moment, it has disappeared! So, ease off, especially tomorrow night, just as i pass you :okay:

It is changing me, but not dropping the weight as much or as quickly as I'd like. But I do feel a lot better than I did this time last year.:hello::okay: I have a better cardio system but the rest of the body seems a bit of a :mrpig: atm. Losing another 5kg would make me feel as though I am making serious progress. I am stuck @ around a 5kg loss atm. Still working on making it bigger. :mrpig:

Lars must have a doppelganger as I saw an LBHIFI going in the bkool session. Either that or he is a glutton for punishment.:blink:. BTW well done :notworthy:

I enjoyed the chaingang tonight in a xx( kind of way. Under an hour, well chuffed (in both senses ). Made the most of the tail end descent :becool:

Guy thanks for the spurring on, the pain didn't really start until you mentioned it :banghead: :surrender:

You did well young man - I challenged your ghost alone, when I did the league ride on Sunday morning, and you certainly did take advantage of the final downhill stretch.

I was about 30 seconds behind at the top of the hill, and you flew past me on the downhill and finished up about 30 seconds ahead of me at the finish, and the gap remained the same all the way up the incline at the finish. So you gained about a minute on the downhill..

I'm the wrong side of 100kg and usually freewheel quite well downhill, so am I going to have to more mince pies to keep up with you on these sections.:hungry:

NOOOOOOO don't do it :headshake::headshake::headshake::headshake: I'd rather fly on the Uphills, as unlikely as that is :laugh:.

I am waiting for the 'you have been beaten' challenge emails from Bkool. Well to be quite honest I am generally not much of a challenge, challenged yes.

I have to keep giving it some, acctually quite a lot, like 98%, on the downhills to make the most of my momentum generating advantage as little as that may be.:bicycle::banghead:  I also had Paul chasing me up the last hill

not too keen on the downhill bits as the bkool seems to have it in for me being a lightweight ! at 63kg i know in real i am left for dead going down hill but i dont pedal hard - on the turbo my legs feel like they are going like bees wings and still everybody is hammering away almost like i am floating down hill like a feather ! - does this mean it makes it easier for me going uphill ? if it does i really have got to buck my ideas up !

I get this all the time, especially 5-8 hours after hard sessions. I do suffer from slightly high blood pressure, but don't know if it makes me more receptive.

It is good to know that I am not the only one that suffers from this a lot ... I always thought it was lack of fluids after a long ride or pushing to hard ..

Add me and my son, especially a few hours after hard efforts. I asked at my over 45's health check, the nurse paid more attention to blood pressure but everything checked out so she said probably nothing to worry about but keep an eye on it.

I've not really kept an eye on it though.
