Actually I'm sure some of our earlier sprints probably did slow us down. Best to keep the watts as close to average as possible I would think.

It is funny the way us lot are so darned competitive. It's one of the reasons I am looking forward to riding with you all in real life. As a result you/we are so much better going up hills than we probably realise. In Zwift last night, when I was doing the pretzel ride, people would overtake me and take time out of me on the flat. But cometh the mountain cometh the Bkool man. I hauled every single one of them in, 4+ watts per kilo for long stretches. It was tremendously satisfying. Well except one, who was the fastest rider on the course overall yesterday. Without my Bkool CC tussles with you lot I would not have been able to do this. And then you all go and spank my bottom today^_^. Oh well, I live to fight another day!

Blimey AAAC - 448 watts!!! V. impressive
Probably old firmware meeting new software.
I think I was 2 minutes quicker than my last time when I took advantage of pro slings and the like
Just need to get with you guys on hardware so we all suffer the same problems whatever they are.

Got my Mini out of the menders today and took it for a run because the most of the week it does short runs which aren't good for running in piston rings.
Notice unusual low water temp fluctuations when off power downhill (went down to 87 at times).
Got back and popped the hood looking for leaks and while the engine was ticking over the water temp went up to 108 which I have never seen before, normally 102/ 104.
Put the car in the garage, turned of the ignition and the fan came on (because of the water temp), and its never done that before.
The new cam chain is making more noise than the old one as well or am I just overthinking things because I did not do the work myself.
Back to the menders tomorrow to get it checked out. Worst case is I just shelled out over £1K on parts and labor and I'm further back than before!

My car has a creak. An incredibly annoying noise that means it is going back to the manufacturer for the third time to have some sort of fix. Apparently it is to do with aluminium and glass expanding different rates and is known problem. Have told them I don't want it back this time if it still creaks.

My bike on the other hand has a groaning noise but I think I know where that is coming from......

@AAAC 76C @Soarerv8 Cars are wonderful pieces of engineering :banghead:. Last year I had to replace the clutch in my V70. With service and MOT, which was due around the same time, it was an £1800 expense, instead of £300, I could have done without :cursing:.

It also pops and groans, from around the dash and windscreen, when the A/C gets turned on .

It is due to a service and MOT again shortly. What can go wrong .

Looking at Whorty stage 6, each hill( Climb and descent) approximately took 3-4 mins to complete. So fag packet calc 1.5-2mins of climbing 26 times:laugh::wacko:

Talk about a mega interval session:eek: looking forward to it

Why cant we have scale on the graph change to time as well?

I bet that's the sort of noise most cars have, but which isn't noticed over the engine, road noise and other rattles! Yours is too quiet and refined for its own good!!

I like the old MG, I have done all the mechanical stuff myself (front and rear suspension, king pins, fuel tank and pump, brakes etc), but I can't do welding so the sills have to be done by someone with those skills. Unfortunately they are the biggest expense. The clutch feels like it has just died, and that is an engine out job kind of looking forward to that.

Bob, sounds like you had a blast in Zwift. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a try.
Hope you're right about our hill climbing ability, but it sure didn't feel like it during this years DD, the delights of which I'm sure you'll never regret taking part in during next years one:okay:. Joking aside I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun mixed in with a little bit of pain. I still need a new saddle and shorts as I'm still not recovered.

Have you had your sit bones measured? Seems to be important to make sure you have the correct width saddle, although I understand most are OK with medium, if you have narrow or wide sit bones a medium may not support properly!

@BILL S I'm off to Italy for a week in the morning, so I won't be around to start next Tuesday's Handicap.

I was thinking you could run Stage 3 (Rundlestone) again, if you want to start it?

I have adjusted the Handicap weights after yesterday's run, and shifted them all up to accommodate theboxers comment that minimum weight seems to be 70 lbs (around 32 Kg).

AAAC 76C as you are generating ever higher average wattages, and with the minimum weight factored in, I've had to load you up with a handicap weight of 99Kg. I suspect this won't slow you down much, as you will probably exceed maximum resistance on the steeper bits, unless the new software slows you down to compensate!

Enjoy!

I will, of course, be keeping tabs on this thread on the WiFi! :okay:

Here's the new weights...

This may tempt you-coming to Zwift soon.

I have to say your experience does worry me. I have been having similar issues recently with long rides on the turbo. There is always a point where i have to get out of the saddle to ease the discomfort. Mind you, nothing like what you went through. Like Geoff says, try some of those Altura or Endura shorts where they measure your sitbone. Could work for you.
