ah.canny see any wires anyway .
I think it's phone specific at the phone end, take the phone to the shop when buying the cable.Does anyone know if there is a standard type of cable for connecting your phone to the box on the wall or is it phone specific ?

The phone could be broken?
@Eddy why this palava? Take the phone with you to the shop, ask for a longer cable to fit.
Am I missing something?
Extensions are standard. Its the cable Pat , it stll works but the wee plastic clip broke that holds it in the phone so it keeps falling out , I want to move the phone further away from the socket anyway and the cable is not long enough so thought I would replace it, thats when I discovered that they wire the cables up in different ways which are phone specific , think I have sussed it out , glue the cable into the phone and use an extension cable , just need to find out if the extensions are standard .
Not quite, wired for a specific phone model, the one pictured.Isn't that just a fax / modem / cable though? Wilkinsons has them, but you do need to look in the stationery section where they sell computing accessories.

You can then plug that into your standard phone extension cable.
