It's of marginal interest as it's not a pork variant and the presence of mint makes it an unlikely candidate for a tasting. I can't get my head around the Yorkshire predilection for mint with, on or in pies. If I wanted a minty pie I'd eat a Polo mint first.
The author of the article seems to have an interest in pies....
@vernon do Pie, Mash & Liquor (a la Cockney) figure on your pie-o-meter at all?
I've always figured they were sub-standard fodder dressed up a bit... but I like 'em... but I'll eat anything*

Never sampled the combination. If the liquor was absinthe, I might be tempted.
Last weekend I visited the pie truck at Knockengorroch festival only once and had a steak and haggis pie. I was underwhelmed and wondered what led to my consumption of four or five pies per day at the same truck three years ago then I remembered that I was 'sponsored' i.e. free pies chips and beans to sit at a table next to the pie truck wearing my 'Keep Calm and Eat More Pies' hoodie.
