I got the last 5 mins of my journey in thunder and lightning whilst being pelted with hard rain... sky went black and cars were putting their lights on... still, nice to be out in it in my s/s jersey!!

i missed that by 30 mins, missus told me with great delight that i would get a soaking of biblical strength, up to stretford was dry and up to urmston all i got was wet tires

Aaah, that'll be your own fault for staying at work until a reasonable time.

I would have been even more drenched were it not for the nice lorry which I drafted all the way up through Hulme to the Trafford Bar lights... top speed was 32.5mph with most of it being at about 29mph... felt a (very) slight pang of guilt as I sailed past about 8 other cyclists having to make their own way up the incline against the headwind... saved me about 5 minutes I'd reckon (lights were in our favour all the way!).

We've just had 5 mm in 20 mins ... it was starting on the way home from school - big drops on very hot backs .. with the sun still shining ... lovely ... just managed to get the bike away before the really heavy stuff started - upto 45 mm/hr rain fall rate. Looking at Raintoday - its just an isolated thunder cell... the main rain is yet to come.
