" TEP" branded chains ?

The sellers of these chains under the " TEP" brand claim they are made by KMC and they are less than half the price, anyone know if they are any good for no frills bikes ?

I've never heard of them, but they're certainly worth a try at that price.

If they're anything like the eBay seller's Shimano basic chains I'd avoid; they were awful. Really basic, no connecting pin/link, rusted or broke quickly. I bought three of the things; two went onto really cheap bikes to be sold.

You should be able to pick up a better chain, either genuine KMC or Shimano, for almost the same price.

The old maxim if it sounds too good to be true it probably is holds true for most things including bicycle chains .
