Nothing wrong with Lake shoes. I've had them before and they are OK. I can't think of any reasons why they are any better or worse than their Shimano equivalents that I've also had. And at £25 they are very cheap.

Tenner for the Cyclaire is a bargain, although it appears to be the older version rather than the current 'Cyclaire plus'. Still not sure what improvements were made with the 'plus' though.

Lake shoes are fine. Wellgo pedals are pretty much at the 'affordable end of the market. I was watching someone with a new bike with them last week who just couldn't clip in easily. Of course I don't know for sure that that was down to the pedals, but it wasn't a novice.
