That was REALLY dangerous. Too bothered about his precious car getting hit by the lorry to think about your safety. He was the twunt who actually pulled out when it was not safe to do so under any circumstances. Even if you hadnt been there, it was a very dangerous manouvre.

Contact the police, they have no excuse not to prosecute for careless driving. Also, when you go in to make a statement, go in your cycling kit with your bike so that they can take a detailed description and possibly photo of you.

Keep safe.

Arrogant To$$er (can't hear the audio at work but it certainly looks that way ) . I've so many times I've had similar but luckilly my spider sense kicks in and says they are going to go for the gap (despite me being it ) and adjust my speed to avoid the impact (I shouldn't have to though )

Wow, that was scary. Well done on remaining calm. The very least he should've done was stop and apologise profusely for his mistake. I wish you well in getting a result.

Defo report; Careless driving at least.

For future reference. If you ride the same route most days and know the hazardous junctions, I'd say get your self into a primary position at junctions like this. This then a) stops people overtaking you at junctions and b) deters whoever is waiting at the junction from pulling out especially if there is a car behind you. Most drivers wait for cars. If they havent seen you, at least they may have a good chance of seeing the lump of steel behind you.

Good luck in persuing the report.

I think the words "sorry mate I didn't see you" should be classed as admittance to driving without due care and attention. If not them words alone should be enough to guarantee a conviction.

+1 maybe it's time for the driver to hand-in his license?

Speculating, but it's possible that you were obscured by the grey car overtaking you when the driver looked left who was then was in a hurry to pull out before the lorry to the right so didn't check left again?

Still careless driving though.

Possibly, but there's still a clear line of sight well before the driver reaches the give way line. An the grey car taking an overtaking line should provoke some thought...
