For want of knowing where else to put this, I would like to say a huge thank you to the dustbin lorry driver who realised he and I were going to meet at some flood water (somewhere around Northwich) about an hour ago and that I was going to come off the worst on my road bike. He made a huge effort to avoid a tidal wave waist height hitting me and managed to slow the car behind him down enough that I only got a slight drowning from it instead. So thank you. It was much appreciated and though I know it is very unlikely you will ever read this, I am very grateful, and sorry I could not take a hand of the handlebars to say thank you at the time.
