That airplane on a treadmill thing, was there a correct answer?

The plane will take off because it is not using its wheels to propel itself. The propellor is pushing air, and will therefore move the plane forward regardless of what is happening at ground level.

Thanks Shaun, I just checked back here to edit my post actually!

Although I argued the toss (on another forum) that it wouldn't, it appears I was wrong and that the wheel speed is a bit of a Red herring.
Phew, back to work...
