Someone holding a chicken does not strike me as genius.Am I the only one who thinks this?

And that's all they want to do. It's not about making you go out now and buy a Mercedes. It's about brand recognition and planting a link in your brain between the brand and stability (= safety)

I dunno about ads, but the 2 most expensive hire cars I've had recently were a Jaguar XF and the new Mercedes E Class.
You can keep yer Jag .... it's just a Luxo-barge.
