So far according to the nearest local weather recording station we have had 56 mm of rain!!! I am so so glad that our roof was fixed on Friday, and that I don't have to go very far in this!!!

I woke up last night at one then at three, both times it was hissing down, opened the curtains this morning and still hissing down doh!

Stepped out the front door and quickly realised the wind was blowing quite well, directly into my face as it tends to do. Well it's character building!

Putting off going to the bank for as long as possible for 2 reasons 1) Don't have an undercover area to attach the trailer to the bike and 2) the waterproofness of my waterproofs has been called into question the last few times I've worn them.

If I'd ridden to work this morning, the water would have been up to my axles on all my favourite routes to work !

Not good news for a shiny road bike even with mudguards fitted.

Noting to adopt a different & boring route after heavy rain, in future.

A 10 min car journey took 50 mins battling against cars with flooded engines and closed roads.

I had a valeter coming in to polish both our cars. We have a commercial garage which I use for storage, but he decided not to come. Which is a blow as I would have enjoyed cycling in today.

So he is coming tomorrow which means another day not commuting! So will be going out tomorrow after work, cannot stay away too long!

So far as a new commuter and having tried the rain yesterday which I enjoyed, the only thing I won't look forward to will be the wind. But again, I will try this out one weekend to see how I get on.

Regards

Chris
