I felt the loss of my (imaginary) immortality very strongly. Over a 2 week period, I went from feeling strong and healthy to being near-lethally weak and sick. My body is healing, but my mind is taking a lot longer. Over 2 years later and I still worry about my health several times a day.

Still, getting out on the bike with the doctor's agreement has to be good, eh? My consultant certainly encouraged me, once the initial danger had receded.

That's the way Colin. Ignore the former and get on with the emboldened latter. Live life

Maverick Goose

A jumped up pantry boy, who never knew his place
Well it looks like I am going to have to put my cycling clobber away, for good, a few months ago I started to feel a little ill, just every now and again but never really gave it much thought, then over the months I was becoming tired and breathless very easy, so off I went to my GP on Monday, I explained everything in detail, and she did a few tests like BP, oxygen level and then the funny bit was she put me on the ECG.

She asked lots of questions about things that had happened only a couple of years ago, one of which was a really bad attack of heartburn, which I could just remember about 18 months ago, anyway she sent me straight to the hospital for a chest X ray and my bloods taken, I went for these doing yesterday as I was going to work on Monday, 20 minutes after I had left hospital yesterday I got a phonecall whilst me and Babytiger were out shopping, it was my GP, She spoke of a few things but didnt want to go into too much detail over the phone, but I am now on the rapid response cardiac list? And it seems my heart burn was ptobably a mild heart attack, and the symptoms I now have are all symptoms of heart problems, she couldnt stress enough, if I feel slightly ill in any way I must dial 999 straight away, and must not wait, it has to be done the moment I feel ill, which is rather worrying, I wont be coming on here as much from now on, it will only make me want to go ride, but I will pop back every now and again to let you know how things are so safe riding all, inc those whom I didn't see eye to eye with.
:hugs:from me Dangermouse-really sorry to hear that and take care!
