Phew! Well that was an effort and a half. Didn't really feel in the mood (nor fit enough) after only three minutes, but kept on in there, hoping I would ride myself into the ride, so to speak. About an hour in, I began to feel like I might be able to come up with the distance, but since I gave up Strava about a year ago, I estimated the distance - partly through experience of the sections, but mostly by the time.
Glad I did it - another month in the bag. :becool:

This at Falkenham.

Well done @Jon George 1st poster for Oct by 37mins 😤 and well done for seeing the distance through . I'm off the mark waiting for the morning rain and drizzle to past and the roads to dry a bit giving @Jon George a headstart to complete my loop out to Odstone and back with the 1st ride in a couple of weeks not affected by road closures . I shouldnt complain the council are actually resurfacing some of the lanes but slightly annoyingly only sections then you come across sections still with pot holes

I had planned to go out to Cambridge for a loop up to Ely and back to get this month's sub-challenge 'Ride Outside Suffolk' done first, but a post elsewhere caused me to check the rain radar and it looked quite wet out that way, most unlike the forecast dry and warm weather, so I stayed local and got the main challenge ride completed with an extended version of the food & drink shopping I was going to do tomorrow. Some of that wetness has now made its way this far east.

I have cured my '50Kytosis' ...yesterday my Roam would not find satellites until a mile or so Into my ride. When I got back the combination of Roam and Google mapping the missing distance = 30.7.miles. and..I slept well😂😂😂
You slept well 😤 . I would have been having nightmares ,doubt I would have slept well if you had posted this last night my OCD would have flared up . If you had done the ride today the 1st of the month I think a thread exclusion may have had to be issued for the 1st time every 👍. I tell you there is no cure for 50kmistus😁

I like your route - I believe I'll be introducing that little swing around Newbourne and back towards Waldringfield some time soon. :okay:

FWIW .. it was a stunningly nice day here today. Perhaps the last nice day this year? - temperature around 20C out of the shade, dry and hardly any wind.

Back on the canal from Cadoret (about a 35-min drive from here), up towards Hilvern then across country to pick up the V8 Voie Verte (the Rigole d'Hilvern). I love riding the rigole with its loopy contour-hugging meanders and I felt relaxed for the first time in over two months. Perhaps I'll ask someone to scatter my ashes up there. Into Croixanvec then down the D322 to Keroret (St-Gérand) at the top of the flight of the locks that descend towards Pontivy. The last 25km back to the van were either flat or downhill - a nice way to end a 5-hour ride.

My most enjoyable ride since late July - very pleased to have done it and will post some photos later (somewhere on the forum). Need to rest, shower and eat first..

October 50 km ... ✅

Ride down to Wellow from NE Bristol, 99.0 % of the way on cycle paths ... 👍

Firstly the Bristol to Bath section then onto The Two Tunnels section and finally The Colliers Way to Wellow.

Great route, with lots of cyclists enjoying today's weather.

October 3rd 48.44 miles 2042 feet - we rode the final 26 miles in storm Amy. No way was I extending this to hit 50 miles!!

Do I get a bonus points for rule #9??
Err let me think , no 🤣 . It's a fine line between badass and stupid not sure which side of the line you were on 😁. I'd normally also call you out for not doing the extra 1.56 miles but if the weather was anything like what's it been like here on this occasion I will let it go but don't tell anyone they will think I'm going soft

We timed the ride to end at 2.00pm. Amy was due here at 3.00pm. She was early arriving at 12.30.....................and I'm going for badass.
