Less than a month away now, start date is the 28th June.

With my training I seem to have one good week, then one "meh" week, with this week (or at least the weekend anyway) falling into the latter category.
You got it Steve 👍 as I found on my recent trip your will be fitter than you think you are .With all day to cover the distance and with logistics sorted you can just plod on

May 26th, Diss, Bressingham, Tacolneston, Foncett End, Foncett St. Peter, Long Stratton, Pulham St. Mary, Rushall, Scole & Diss, 72.4km,
Oh that's very marginal as to wether to round up or not 72.4km is 44.987 miles and I would expect after 45 miles you would round it up to 50 miles . Not upset just a little disappointed 😂

There was no way I was going to round it up to 45 miles, let alone 50 in the 34°C temperatures on the day. The hot air had already cooked my lungs, I'd taken 3 shade breaks in the last 10 miles and got through 1.5 litres of drink even taking it easy.

If you rode quicker you'd get more airflow 😁,oh but then you'd put more effort in and heat up more 😮. Go on then I will let you off 😂 , having experienced overheating in France recently it's not pleasant and shouldn't be underestimated

It's amazing how the first inclusion on @13 rider's Nudge List can get you going. Back in the game!
Another silly early start, like last week's and even more wildlife: two foxes; a couple of deer (muntjac and roe); and about a thousand magpies. (Most of them saluted.)
Dawn.

Very nice too ! Bet it was lovely this am. Not too hot, very calm winds…..

*I was very much planning on ‘joining you’. Helping my Son move into his first house yesterday; and lugging heavy loads all day in that heat made me ignore my alarm clock today. A once every Millenium event 🤣

Did not miss the rain today, managed to hit it all.
Weird thing is the route planner said my ascent would be 618m and distance 51.4 miles. My garmin reckoned it at 557m and 52.5 miles.
Mileage pretty much within acceptable variation but the height difference, though welcome today, is more of a surprise (61m / 200 ft).
It was the flattest possible route, though much slower than my usual lumpy routes into Preston. Quite a few puddles and oblivious pedestrians on the towpath.
