I looked at a mini statement from my Lloyds bank account today and saw that £72.00 had been withdrawn today under the title of AA MEMBERSHIP! I'm not a member of the AA, or requested to be a member of the AA. The last time I had any interaction with them was over 5 years ago when I had car insurance with them. They do send me letters every year when my car insurance is due in April, which I don't even open, so why have they withdrawn £72.00 today and if it is them, why do they still have my bank details?

If you had gone with the AAA it would have been £52 just saying!!

Do you think it actually is the AA, or scammers?

Phone them in the morning and ask!

Get a full bank statement and it could say AA membership and then a reference number like an account number or location of the transaction. It may also say if it was a card payment, direct debit or a standing order.

A direct debit is initiated by the seller whereas as a standing order is initiated by the buyer.
