The AA withdrew £72.00 from my bank account today without my knowledge or permission

To be fair, assuming you're still dry, if the initial meetings have kept you off the booze this long you've probably saved that much by not drinking, so the AA look to be good value. :whistle:

I think it looks suspicious because of the wording. A A MEMBERSHIP
I would expect to see only “The AA” or perhaps ”AA.COM”

A bank statement should only show the company that is being paid and not the item purchased, in this instance it is showing membership.
I’m not a member of the AA so I cannot check but if other readers of this thread are AA members perhaps they could have a look on their statements and check how the debit charge is worded.
