***Beans in deep philosophy jolly prairie wander oop norf of field***

'Tis a lovely evening Beans, we should strike while the iron is hot' is what I told him.

No time to sit on the pondering bench and reflect but time enough to get your claw stuck on post.

...and talking of naughty boys who wandered, there was this god called Odin. He was such a famous wanderer that Vikings wrote poems about him. I told Beans all about Odin and the ravens he summoned for mischief and one of the sons he fathered called Thor which is related to Thursday and the weather.
I think he was listening. Perhaps he was absorbing all of it and it was filling him up with big ideas and the confidence of a lion as we wandered like Odin towards the ditch worth studying.
Look Beans, my shadow makes me look like I was Odin himself.

After the wander across the praraire + myhtology, we finally got to a the ditch thicket worth studying.

Which is where I left him...

Is she staring into the sun or contemplating her next sinister move?

At the time I took the picture, initially she was looking straight at me and then Shorty turned up to my right and she glanced at her the moment I took the picture. And the reason it's not particularly clear, is firstly, because I was stood in the conservatory behind glass and secondly, I enlarged the picture.
Although timid, she's actually cool as a cucumber.
Yesterday she lay around on the drive in the sun and was quietly observing any activity for the best part of 2 hours, then she found a shady spot and slept.
I have not seen one ounce of aggressive/defensive behaviour out of her. If she feels threatened, she just quietly slinks away.
We try to act normal and go about our business after she has eaten so she gets used to our actions as no consequence to her and she's showing a bit more confidence to hang around slowly slowly.
Beans either goes to her and they sniff each other, or (aside from feeding times), will be totally indifferent.

Not the answer you were expecting but I know you and you are a very dodgy person with dodgy intent transposed to a homeless cat.

***Spicy chicken drumsticks***

[Recipe upon request]

It's been raining but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any action, oh no, rain does not stop play.
On a damp evening, I threw the bones of the drumsticks over the hedge for all furry, feathered and sundry seen as they don't compost very quickly but Beans clocked me this time and ran off into the dark in the pouring rain towards the drumstick remains.
Roughly 20 minutes later he returns soaked to the skin with a fat belly and smelling like a Yemeni take away.
? '?' because on other occasions, I have offered the remains to him in a bowl but he has always turned has nose up at them. I dunno. They are pretty spicy too.

So here's the craic... Beans has figured that when Cleo the vagrant VIP turns up, I proffer food to which he thinks he might get access to. However, I have to shut him in and placate him with a treat and so Beans may be silly but he's still clever because he now associates the VIP guest with a treat and comes in all animated every time she turns up. Did Pavlov have a cat? This is perfect, because I don't have to go looking for her intermittently through the day and into the evenings and we also don't have to put up with the heart wrenching mews.
On Wednesday, Beans was spotted giving Cleo a quick clean around her ears.

Tune in sometime, same channel for updates and action.
