Does anyone else find it easier to go round left hand bends, rather than right hand bends (or vice versa)? Do we have a natural balance which is better one side? I guess this makes anti-clockwise routes a little quicker for me ...........!!!

Oddly I agree, I have never thought about it before but thinking on it- I agree.

You'd have to nip off to the continent to figure out how much the camber of the road and the reduced number of junctions where you have to cede way helps you do clockwise routes.

Not something I have ever noticed.

Except when I was riding Bent style.
Had problem with left turns then.

Probably something to do with being on the left, hence you're not leaning into the middle of the road.

Assuming you aren't refering to junctions etc, where it is pretty self explanitory. I would agree left bends are easier taken at speed than right handers. I say this because with left bends you can safely hit the apex. Right hand bends you have to respect the white line unless you want to run head on into traffic.

I am also the same and I think it's for the reasons 400bhp and Rob3rt stated.

Taking right-hand bends is my main weakness in terms of bike handling skills. I slow down too much for them. It's just so much easier when you can hug the apex - I'm sure I'd be the opposite if I lived on the continent. I'm not sure how to improve upon that other than just keep riding and going incrementally faster on them though.

Skipper, can I ask a personal question? Which side does one dress? This may be the answer. On the other hand (pun intended) it may not.

Perhaps it's related to which foot you put down when you stop. Somewhere in the little cycling program in our brains there's something that says that side is safe to go lower on because there's support there.

I haven't noticed any difference between left and right.
