Difficult to pick one, but the one that stands out in the last 10 years is Radiohead at the Manchester Evening News about 8 or 9 years ago.
Brian Setzer is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
Would you really class him as underrated, anyone who knows music knows this bloke is brilliant and he's got his own signature Gretsch!
There are folk like Clapton and Richards who are really overrated, maybe that kind of skews it.
Yes I would, he's hardly, if ever features in 'best guitarists' listings.
Those lists are rubbish though, generally they're the 'most famous guitarist'. But I concede to your point, you being in the biz an all that.
Anyway.. me and Brian have common.....we shared the same tattooist.
Does he save the best ones for Brian?
Saw Siouxsie & Banshees at Leeds Uni in the late(??) 80's, went with a couple of Goth friends
I take it you mean the 'Brian Setzer Orchestra'???
I'd love to see them too - got a DVD though

Rockabilly has a bit of credibility problem outside of its fanbase. It's seen as simple, nostalgic and a bit silly by 'serious critics', which unfortunately means that great musicians who play in that style don't get recognised.
Yes and no. I'd love to see him play his general, solo stuff and sold Stray Cats stuff, but I'd take the Orchestra too.
Totally agree that he is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. He's never in any of the rankings. He'd easily make my Top 20 and he was one of the biggest influences to me picking up the guitar.
Reverend Horton Heat is another rockabilly guitarist who is not well known but is amazing. Just saw them live last month.
