But until then, saying that Scotland was in the UK since.... What was it, 1703? Then you would still have at the very least Culloden and The Highland Clearances to cover.
<mode= history pedent> 1707. You're thinking of the Union of the crowns 1603.</>
When I learned history, the map on the classroom wall was was mostly coloured pink. It was possibly out of date by then, but what I learned was:
Scotland usually beat England.
The British brought prosperity, peace & prosperity to the world by graciously welcoming most of it to the Empire.
The Empire was almost entirely won and run by Scotsmen.
The definition of an 'island' was a bit of land entirely surrounded by the Royal Navy.
Scotland has an auld alliance with France, whether the French know it or not.
Britain won the Napoleonic and any other wars mostly because of the Scottish regiments.
Scotland is the home of enlightened thought and
enlightened wageslave poverty progressive industrialisation.
The industrial revolution, the bicycle, and and pretty much everything else, was invented in Scotland. Anything not invented in Scotland, was invented in England, and only because they got the idea from a Scotsman.
