Groan....another assumption to dismantle......

I live in Leeds. I'm not from Leeds.

I used to live in Leeds, but I'm not from Leeds. My brother lives in Leeds, dangerously close to Colly, but he doesn't know it.

Not sure what it will be on Christmas day as 'the boss' has got a leg of Lamb, Pork and Beef joints in the fridge ready for preparing and cooking but for sure it will be with Roast potatoes and plenty of different vegetables. This will be my first Christmas in the UK for 22 years and my brother has come up from Cornwall, so it will be family only with the SIL and her family joining us for the Christmas Lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Glue that binds us together.
Roast leg of lamb, and all the trimmings, don't normally have a roast weekends cause we are always out on the bikes, so am really looking forward to this one. Turkey boxing day at my daughters, not a lover of turkey but will suffer it tommorow,

The full and usual christmas dinner, Turkey, roasts, sprouts etc etc.
We tried doing the roast potatoes etc (for the first time ever) last year in goose fat...hated it...all of us. Either we did something wrong...or using goose fat is overrated..or we just dont like it, it won't happen again.
Sons, daughers, grandson and grandaughters round for dinner , plenty of hilarity over the table, lots of noise and gabble.
Cheap crackers....brought some expensive ones once, still a waste of money considering how much they cost, at the end of the day, they're still filled with useless or worthless tat.

This years Turkey wasnt as good as usual (i wont tell the wife and spoil all the effort she put in). It was ok, but just not as good. I'd love to know how our local carvery does theirs..its always lovely and juicy and carves beautifully, mine just disintegrated. It was ok though.

Quiet day for two here. Brunch will be muffins with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and dinner is roast gammon, creamed potatoes, bread sauce, cabbage, honey-glazed carrots and parsnips with stuffing balls and gravy. Pudding will be a fruit sponge pudding with custard and cream. After a couple of hours doing beached manatee impressions, we'll hopefully have enough room for cheese and crackers :hungry:

On Boxing Day we'll have bacon sarnies, then a friend will be coming over for dinner, bringing "mystery meat" from the depths of his freezer (last year it was delicious pork, but until it defrosted we couldn't tell if it was turkey, or possibly even baby), complemented with with bubble and sqeak form the previous days leftovers (if we have any), plus carrots, parsnips, chestnut stuffing and gravy. No pudding plans as yet
Oh come on Baggy.......dont let me down, I thought better of you;)

Lobster to start, salmon for main and Christmas pudding for pudding. Finished just in time for the Queen's speech (never before seen the Queen's speech, but quite liked it). Spent most of the afternoon dozing and only just roused myself to put up my Christmas avatar (now that its officially Christmas).
