It's a shame bob, but ventoux is more important a ride that must not be missed so from now until then take it easy.

Hope to see you in the future and put me down for any future rides.

Alas fearwel and adu (I think that's how you spell it) :hugs:

Thanks Dean. It's a shame DD isn't in another 3-4 weeks by which time I hope to be in better shape and my knee less troublesome. In meantime, Lots of physio, stretching and rolling plus climbing up Watopia and possibly Ventoux on RGT over the next month should see me ok.

Once DD is out the way - and assuming you guys are still talking! -let's throw some ideas around another trip.

Try the Bigring VR rides. You can segment the longer rides (I turned the Pikes Peak one into 4 shorter rides) and they have superb videos to go with them. Very realistic for me in relation to power to weight to speed, for me at least. I've enjoyed every BRVR session I've done so far.

Well, it would have made a change from the missus' snoring which wakes me most nights:rolleyes:

I have an open mind. London to Paris say or a ride around isle of white, something that might entice others. I would love it to be mountainous but that is probably a stretch.
I'd happily organise a ride around the Isle of Wight, I've not done it yet myself but am due to do so before the summer is out so will have a route and some knowledge by September. While not mountains there is enough climbing available https://www.strava.com/routes/292563?hl=en-GB

Plenty of villages and towns to stop and have a bite to eat, making it a social ride.

I like the sound of that.

Your menu choices for Saturday night. It's a 3 course meal, bit pricey at £26 per head, but will be nice. If this is too much, I can book us into a mates restaurant across the street, which will be cheaper, but not on quite the same level.
There is plenty of carbs on offer, but if you would rather something specific, they will accommodate, as long as I get plenty of notice to inform them.
Your thoughts gentlemen?

Looks good. I may just want a 2 course rather than 3 as don't want to bloat too much the night before the ride :mrpig: 6-45 time is all good too - i'm aiming to get to campsite early afternoon to set up and relax in the sun :sun: One more training day left now then it's resting until the big day ^_^

Yup remember this is 3rd World Wales. Bring your water purification tablets, and you can leave your vowels at home, you won't be needing them.
And yes Andy, I'll collect Tommy from the station, and 'drive' him the 200 yards to the hotel.
Wouldn't have thought you'll need your rack. Got a 4 biker on the roof of wife's car, and if that poops its pants, I've always got my transit van.
I am starting to get quite envious now! But that'll be gone by about midday Sunday when I see you all looking with dismay up the Devils Elbow!

Thanks Adam for sorting things out that end - i will go along with whatever people want about food
had one last chance of an evening fettle last night - new brake blocks and 29 ring - little test ride tonight then an ultra polish and oil ( might even clean the bike as well ) then i think i will be ready - think garmin have been sneaky as my 705 all of a sudden locked my maps so i have had to put freemaps on
is getting real now aint it - sun cream on me ears or i will have 2 bits of crispy bacon on the side of my head by the end :sun:

I will carry lots of water in the car. I know the year we did it in the sun, extra water is invaluable. Bring a few extra bottles if you like, I have quite a few, but if you have ones you like....like I imagine TT's are colour coded to his frame, and he'd rather change the bike than have a wrong colour bottle defacing it.
