I didnt raise my arm or my hand at all. She just thought that as most people turn into ASDA car park, then I was too, when I was actually carrying on to the beach car park.

These excuses are 'lawyer speak' as they have to be seen to be doing their job. I mean you pay a brief a box full of readies to present your case and he can't really say to the beak:

''My client accepts she is completely guilty of all charges due to the fact she is a totally crap driver and doesn't know her arse from her elbow''

There used to be a barrister (Barrington Black I think) in Leeds who was always defending the indefensible, his excuses were legendary.
One case where a bloke was up for GBH because he buried an axe in a guys head, part of the defence was
''there is some evidence of ill feeling between the two men''

Anyone taking anti-depressant drugs and driving is surely committing an offence anyway. Most have a negative effect on concentration and there are warnings written on the packaging.

No, it isn't an offence to drive whilst on anti-depressants. You're simply advised to cease driving (or stop taking the medication) if you are adversely affected by them, which most people won't be with modern anti-depressants.

That reminds me of the footballer Andy Carroll. He was charged with drink-driving, and his defence was that he wasn't thinking straight because he was drunk.

No, any drug that makes you feel drowsy or similar you shouldn't drive, that's only a very few anti-depressants...but a wide range of other every day medications.
If she's trying to dump shitie driving on depression, then she has admited to driving while unfit, right? Should surrender her licence til she can prove she is fit & well to the DVLA. Other wise it just sounds like bollox.

My mistake in my post above yours.

Re-reading the report all the solicitor says is she was 'diagnosed with depression' following the Henson programme - no mention was made of any medication, so there's no evidence she was taking any.

She shouldn't have been behind the wheel and the bullcrap excuses are too little, too late, and all to common.
