Went to see The Fabulous Thunderbirds again last night.

That is a band that knows how to work hard, Roadhouse Texas blues at its finest.

And sounding as sharp as ever.

Oh don't worry, it's good to be aloof from all the dross in life.

I saw a report of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the 'house band' was a line up that included several members of ZZ Top and Jimmy Vaughan. Suddenly spending a weekend mixing it with a load of petrol heads seems quite attractive

Jimmy Vaughan is a great guitarist and mixing it with those ZZ boys should be pretty good - you'll be impressed, I hope, with the two guitarists Kim Wilson has with him now. One looks like a Jesus freak and the other looks about 14 but they can both play really well. I think they sound better than last time I saw them in London about 4/5 years ago - no Gene Taylor this time. Good new tunes too.

No idea why, but that was their last European date.
