If we're referring to the film about Graeme Obree as opposed to the train, then yes, it's a rather good film.

In such things the book always tends to be better. Quite difficult to get the entire contents of an autobiography into a 90 minute film. The film does a good job of getting the essence of the man as portrayed in the book, with the surrounding characters.

It's OK, but is pretty much fiction. I read the book afterwards and was shocked at the fact that 80% of what you see in the film is made up and bears no relation to the real story!

I think most films based on books are like that.

I think most of us know the story though and a sad, tragic, unfortunate one it is.

I bought it(the film) brand new off the net for £1.50 on DVD after discussing Mr Obree on here on another thread a good few months ago - oh, and haven't watched it yet! :hyper:

OFF TOPIC; Mr Mason have I missed your posts regarding the wheel building classes you were going to attend? :bravo:

You did - I attended and have a lovely pair of wheels sitting in the corner of my bedroom to go on the bike at some point. I didn't want to ruin such lovely hand-made beauties in the crap weather we've had since the course in January!

I want to buy myself a truing stand at some point as I'm itching to keep my wheel-building skills going by dismantling and rebuilding a set of my old wheels. It was a very therapeutic course - well worth the money.
