Reading out of the relegation zone, first league win of the season. Here's hoping the first of many now!

We were supposed to be playing you on Saturday . . . its a sign of how far football has come that this fixture is postponed due to international call ups!

Been fairly standard for L1 for a few years I thought with Wales, Scotland, N Ireland and fringe nations players all in there. Also daft to have a break so bloody soon in the season but hey ho!

By holding him to his contract? I don't think so.

by pullling from a deal they had already agreed after sending him for the medical and doing his media leaving video..... if they wanted to hold him to his contract, why did they do all that to him?? they did him dirty, its that simple

That's a bit unfair on Palace, tbh. They couldn't get a replacement and the manager really didn't want to lose their captain

they had 3mths to get a replacement for him, also kurt zouma a french international and european cup winner with west ham was available on a free at 30yrs old..... who is way better than the igor from brighton they tried to sign as his replacement.

Palace clearly decided that the cost of playing at least half a season without a first choice defender was more than the money they would lose in transfer fees. If it's the difference between getting into Europe or not, they are probably right.

they wont get into europe this season and losing 35m is a hell of a loss for a club just hovering above the PSR regulations each season.

To be fair, I should also point out that if it turns out to make no difference, Palace will have blown a tidy sum. Time will tell if they were right or not.

what also strange with the palace situation is that igor, who palace was signing as gheui's repalcement was told by glasner that he couldnt guarantee him game time..... so why was that do you think??
