Perennial underachievers England strike (or don't) again...

For all they were good against Croatia, that was poor this evening.

How Pickford escaped at least a booking is beyond me.

Pickford didn't get booked because he didn't commit an offense. On the other hand, had the attacker had the presence of mind to play the ball instead of completely ignore it and go feet first on the goalie, there is no doubt Pickford would have walked.

Let's relax and think of the positives from the 0 - 0 draw. England now have to play much better on Saturday against Panama. They probably thought they'd win tonight and play the lesser squad members against Panama, but now they know they can't feck about!

Any reason for that silly and completely false statement?

Simple. I have watched quite a few WC matches and yet to see VAR interject once. I haven’t watched all the matches though.
Watch any EPL match and you can pretty much guarantee that VAR will interject at least once.

VAR disallowed Iran's goal for offside.

Totally agree with you though that VAR has almost become an excuse for officials. I don't mind the technology, but when it's being used to calculate someone's elbow being offside it's a joke - that's not a clear and obvious on field error.

VAR was plainly absent for the Engkand game as Ghana should have a penalty that only the ref appeared to have missed. Maybe VAR was watching a game in Boston rather than that at the 'Boston' Stadium 22 miles away.

I have only watched highlights, but have seen a few VAR interventions. So it is most definitely present, even if maybe lower key than we usually see in the Premier League.
