England V Netherlands this evening (18:00 KO CEST)
England pretty much need to win this after the loss to France, who play Wales later tonight. Horrifically tough group.

ITV now has 'Audio Description' on Freeview HD for the football.
Rather than being an occasional addition it is a full alternative commentary.

It actually has mire the feel of commentary rather than being a descriptor so it is certainly work in progress.
However, at least it feels proper commentary, myself now finding most commentaries either lacklustre or lazily shouty.

There was a time when TV commentators were basically doing radio commentary telling viewers what they were watching.
They then realised that the vast majority could see this so switched to analysis/pundentary. Some are good, money for old rope for most.

As someone who 'dips in' I prefer the radio type commentary, it being far more immersive.
Cycling is worse, it being expected that you know both the team and the team colours.

Regarding Pearce, with the exception of the Kuntz gaffe, I can't remember a single thing Mottie said whereas 'it's g, g, g, g, g, Granville and Chelsea are open all hours' will stick with me forever.

Good old Danny Granville. Played half a seasons games for the Blues and ended up with a European pot.
