Per the guidance of the IFAB, which oversees the rules of the game globally, "this is not a handball (unless the ball goes directly into the opponents' goal or the player scores immediately afterwards, in which case a direct free kick is awarded to the other team)."

They reallly should use pundits who have some slight idea about the rules of football.

It doesn't matter in the slightest who the ball came off, if you handle it deliberately, or (modern interpretation) your hand/arm is not "in a natural position", then it is handball.

Strangely, the "Simplified rules of the game" does indeed mention who kicked the ball, though I can't find reference to it in the actual Laws of the game. They're both maintained and published by IFAB

Well done to Palace in reaching the Conference cup final. It might be only the 3rd level of competition, but Palace fans are enjoying it.

Just need a couple more points to be sure of avoiding relegation, but hard to see where any more points are coming from with the games they have left. Arsenal beating West Ham would be a big help.

Don't worry you are safe. You need only three points from your remaining games and that's only if my team(West Ham) get maximum points from there remaining games which is very unlikely.
Obviously Arsenal beating West Ham won't be a big help to us at all but in all honesty they probably will. I've got to just hope that we can get something out of the game and Tottenham lose to Leeds on Monday.
#Declan Rice to score an own goal from forty yards in the last minute ⚒️ ;)

I'm optimistic about our chances. Derby games can turn the form book upside down and Arsenal can be inconsistant.

While I'd definitely rather have Spurs go down I think we may be starting to find some consistency now. Ødegaard and Saka coming back changes a lot, especially if Gyökeres is finding some form and we have Eze & Madueke to bring a bit of fresh legged chaos.

More to the point, with City dropping points last weekend now it's back in our hands and with the CL semi final win there's a new buzz around the place again and refreshed energy in the tired legs. I think, and hope, we're in steamroller mode now.

Poetic justice! Rochdale beat the team that finished 16 points behind them, to win promotion back to the Football League!😉👍

That was dramatic

Are you on about the Rochdale, or the Arsenal win? 🤔 😉 If you mean the Arsenal win, I'm glad they won! As for Rochdale, wow what a victory!😎 When they went 2-0 down I thought that was it, but as they've been doing all season, they either win games or draw games right at the end, so there was always a slight hope! I was dubious about the penalties, but the Radio Manchester commentator said he had confidence in 'the best shot stopper' in the National League and better than many in Leagues 1 and 2, and he was proved to be right!😉👍

Really need to scrap the playoffs. Promote the top x teams and have some competition for those who missed out with either a financial reward or a points boost for the next season as the prize.

Maybe have the League one and National League play offs at Old Trafford, not Wembley. Wembley looked two thirds empty today. Old Trafford holding around 20,000 less and being 'up north' would be better!😉 As for the National League wanting three up, three down, yes it'd be good for the National League teams, but dodgy for the likes of Accrington Stanley. Two up and two down isn't as bad for the National League as the days I remember when the only teams demoted or relegated from the Football League were voted out the Football League due to financial problems, not for their final league position.
