About time they stopped the laying on the ground behind the wall nonsense whilst a free kick is being taken

It isn't nonsense, and why would they stop it?

It means the wall can be effectively higher, because they can jump without worring about a ground shot going under them.

If you mean in 1970, Mexico were out of the competition by then, so they'd 'gone home'. If you mean now, I have no idea.🤷 I don't see noise from annoying, noisey Mexicans as much of a problem as ear plugs and a carafe of fine cognac each should block the noise out.🧐

no I mean now, the 70s version seemed well very 70s and lets leave it at that, was actually before my time too  I just dont understand why it seems so complicated to sort out, but Im new to following football that closely

Because they would have a contract with exclusive access.

but surely FIFA wouldnt (ok I know but bear with me) allow such a thing ? and if it were the case, why arent the press highlighting that part ?

part of me thinks this is just a big sendup to provide copy for English press to write something like the whole altitude thing theyre going on about, and theres actually nothing happening

Fair enough,😉 but if two teams about to play each other were to stay in the same hotel, it'd be a first I'd heard about such a thing happening!😉

How much money have Paraguay paid the ref from Uzbekistan.

Excruciatingly poor reffing this match, Paraguay were a disgrace. But I'm pretty sure some of them should have had reds in the Germany game as well and should have been suspended for this match

France got 3 yellow cards. And Paraguay got none in a game that was totally ruined by Paraguay.

Ruined as a spectacle for the neutrals but what else would you expect Paraguay to do? If they go toe to toe and try to attack, MMMBop would be breaking Fontaine's record.

There was an incident in the first half where Barcola swung at a Paraguay player but pulled back and made no contact. The Paraguay player went down as if he needed life support. The ref appeared to give Barcola a yellow but I assume this was rescinded as Barcola looked like he got another yellow later but wasn't sent off.

This was one of those game where I wanted both teams to be knocked out. Paraguay because they were dirty cheating [illegitimate children] and France because they are french.

How are FIFA going to stop it? They aren't the local police, and have no police powers.

No, it is the Mexican fans doing what they can to disrupt opponents.
