Said the other day this was on the cards. If we beat Mexico I'd have preferred Brazil. Norway is too much like a tight PL game and I don't fancy Guehi/Konza against Haaland. Appreciate we do need to beat Mexico first!

True, but players go up like that in every game and there is contact. I'd say it was one of those tacit understandings that unintentional contact like that is generally not given, in or out of the box.

I think it was intentional, having watched it from a few angles. At first I thought it was just how his arms had to move as he jumped, but you can see a little extra movement that's quicker than the rest of the arm movement

And you suggested that "surely FIFA wouldn't allow it", while now you are saying why wouldn't they?

I'm not sure whether FIFA would actually ban it, but the teams themselves will always want to book the whole hotel for exclusive use. There are a lot more people involved in and around an international football team than a cycling stage race team, with squads of 35 plus various others, against squads of 9, with a similar proportion of others.

And they don't want other teams being able to listen in or disrupt anything, nor any other outsiders.

"why wouldnt they" ie FIFA allow teams to share hotels. as what possible reason would there be for not allowing that, especially if the home group of fans are intent on disrupting the hotel of the opposition team

but this is probably why it doesnt happen as theres always a tendency to over complicate such a pretty straightforward thing as sorting basic accommodation out

doesnt matter now anyway. they should have played the game early before the predicted weather storms came in
