The last time there was an ex Accrington Stanley player on the England manager and assistants bench was when we won the world cup 60 long years ago, when ex 1950's Stanley player Les Cocker was England's 'sponge man'. Is this an omen I wonder? 🤔 😉

Match now delayed for an hour at least! Maybe FIFA should've thought about the unpredictable weather in Mexico in the summer, when granting them participation in a third World Cup!

England v Costa Rica, Florida, delayed one hour, France v Iraq, Pholadelphia, delayed two hours. Maybe FIFA should've thought about the unpredictable weather in America in the summer when granting them participation in a second World Cup?

"surely FIFA wouldnt allow it" ie teams to dictate whether other teams could stay in the same hotels or not, so they couldnt book it for their exclusive access

"why wouldnt they" ie FIFA allow teams to share hotels. as what possible reason would there be for not allowing that, especially if the home group of fans are intent on disrupting the hotel of the opposition team

but this is probably why it doesnt happen as theres always a tendency to over complicate such a pretty straightforward thing as sorting basic accommodation out

doesnt matter now anyway. they should have played the game early before the predicted weather storms came in

It makes far more sense to delay the KO when the true situation is known rather than play earlier based on predicted events.

The logistics of delaying an international game of this significance are very challenging. The reason(s) for doing so would have to be far more severe than forecast thunder storms.
