People in football are not questioning VAR (or they shouldn't),

They are, and they should. VAR is ruining football, almost all fans would accept the occasional wrong decision rather than the constant interruptions when goals are scored while the video is checked from umpteen different angles.

Correct. The Football League was founded in 1888. VAR was introduced in 2018. Fans had a glorious 130 years to argue over offside and eight years to get increasingly pissed off with the very, very stupid VAR system. It should be ditched - tomorrow.

The game doesn't need VAR, it has never needed VAR and would be all the better for abandoning it.

You are confusing the technology with the reason for the errors.
Human implementation and interpretation. VAR can, and should, be better used.

Relegation should be automatic, and depending on the severity no just by one division. I hope it isn't a fine which they can probably easily afford.

Most likely will be a big fine. The charges are about money, the "main" punishment will also be about money.

Very possibly also a points deduction, but they can't relegate them now, with fixtures already played, both by them and by whoever would be promoted to take their place.
