Two inners each is good. We had five deflations: four were due to ill-stuck patches, one to a thorn. All were on Alex's bike - but not all his inners.
This rate - one per 600k ridden I think - shows we did have, overall, pretty good surfaces.

I was very happy with 32s on my Galaxy but we were carrying our luggage ourselves (panniers & a bar bag in my case so I had quite a bit of weight) whereas you will have the Benefit of Ian so take your bike which is best in terms of speed & comfort. There are no mountains but I recall some drags & undulations in Normandy that will require some concentration. All were rewarded by views &/or descents!

There's a post from me on the conversation asking you to email me your hotel bookings so I can work out a luggage delivery schedule and discuss it with @ianmac62 when he gets back into the country.

I know that. I have done this a few timed before.
This brings back memories of my first multi-day cycling, which I did in the summer of 1990. On July 4th, I spent the night at Darmstadt youth hostel. So did a busload of English tourists. We were all watching THE GAME in the breakfast room. I was smoking at the time, rolling my own. After the game, a shattered Englishman asked me if I could roll him a ciggy, which I did. It was a really really weird evening, I have to say.

Annoyingly, the kick-off to the first England game will midnight French time on Saturday night. Not sure if anything (bar our hotel room) will be open in Domfront at that time. But the fixture is a real cracker of course, and I know some strange people who quite often start bike rides at that time of the "day". Second England game - against Uruguay, another cracker - is on Thursday, 9pm. A more sociable time, an the next day will be shortish, if we take the train for the last leg into Bordeaux.
