I have no problem with people paying fir a first class plane ticket, as it doesnt impact on the people in economy.
My issue is that every time someone pays 50p to skip the queue it bumps the other people down the queue, so it does impact them. Theoretically if everyone else paid 50p and you didnt, you may never get to the front of the queue.
And every time you get transferred, you get charged another 50p!

We did a birthday treat thing to Alton Towers with 4 screaming gurls, Mrs McGinty paid for some fast-track tickets for some of the more popular rides, it was great, no queuing while the unwashed scum were waiting for over an hour for some rides, mental not to and it wasn't that expensive. Would definitely do the same again if, God forbid, there was an again.

I completely agree. If you pay extra in advance (eg a first class ticket) , that's fine by me. To some extent you are subsidising the punters like me at the back of the aircraft. To deliberately make the check-in queue so hateful that I might be tempted, at the airport, to pay my way out of the discomfort seems quite another level of low business practice.
Absolutely. If I ever had to go to a theme park ever again (shudder) I would have no problem at all in shelling out. Sod equality.

Anyway, if you kicked up a fuss about queueing, you'd probably get dragged out and beaten up by the security.
I did wait 50 minutes with my lad to go on the Postman Pat ride and it broke down when we nearly at the front of the queue, I'd have happily had a punch up with security at that point. They fixed it pretty quick and we had the 3 minute ride so all was ok in the end

This also made me wonder when seeing people who have paid extra to board first, rushing to get on the plane. Very strange behaviour.
Stuff sitting on a stuffy plane for any more time then is necessary.
On any flight I am usually one of the last getting on. No standing in line, just taking it easy in the chairs watching all the rushing and fuss. When the queue has died down casually wander on.
Yes and no. If you fly as much as I do and particularly with hand-baggage only, it removes the faff of not having anywhere to stow your bag and let's you board in relative calm rather than the scrummage that generally transpires. I spend enough of my time in queues and faffing around in airports that to get quickly aboard and sat down is a notable benefit especially when delayed or after a long day. In the earlier days of Easy-Jet it also allowed you to choose where you sit.

I'm not sure quite why but I don't have a great problem with paying extra in advance to get "better" treatment. I suppose we all do that in some way or another. What seems totally cynical is for an organisation to deliberately make their customer service so ghastly that people feel the need to pay extra for things that should be expected as normal and polite.

And don't get me on that "held in a queue" telephone sh1t!
Neither do I in most cases, but with the proviso that your 'better treatment' is not at the significant expense of somebody else's poorer experience. In the case of Fast-Passes at theme parks I think this significantly impacts upon the experience of poorer buggers who have saved to take their kids to the park and their kids experience is to my mind lessened by the kids of wealthier parents.
Life is not fair, I understand that, but in the case of Fast-passes it seems doubly so.

Did Ted Glen fix it?
Yes, but only after chasing a run away post trolley around the dales for the afternoon.

Pinko commie.

Places like these aren't cheap anyway. Each passes was about £4 a pop I think. We bought some of these but also took a picnic so we didn't have to buy expensive fast food. If you're sensible you'd never go near one, I queued for an hour to go on the Postman Pat ride FFS, haven't I suffered enough?!

The fact that they're not cheap in the first place is mostly my point, a big spend for many families - that they get beaten to the Postman Pat ride by the offspring of a Hilly-Billy music listening, chipboard selling cyclist of questionable repute must take the biscuit!

Suffered? Have you done multiple circuits of the 'It's a small world after all' ride at Disneyland Paris? Well have you Punk?

There is no fast pass on the postman pat ride - it's the great leveller. Everyone suffers. Everyone...sob...
