Just come across a brilliant new money-making scam from those friendly folk at Orange. After you get thru' their interminable menu system, you reach the final option: "We're really busy right now. If you'd like to jump the queue, press 1. This will cost 50p. Or to wait in the regular queue, press 2." How 'quality customer services' is that?

Profit at all costs.
I loathe queue jumpers anywhere....A call back would be fairer... even for 50p!

This seems to be creeping into lots of places.
The one that annoys me is Theme Parks, where it costs a fortune to get in, then some people pay a further £20 per person to skip the queue.
try explaining to young kids that some people can push in front because they have spent money to do it.
In teh UK we have always had a sense of fairness, and the humble queue is a leveller for everyone, rich or poor.

One of my African customers, who happens to be a minor local king, visited London and wanted to go on the London Eye. He and his queen wife were shocked at the length of the queue and were just walking away when one of the attendants spotted them and recognised them as his king and queen and after the required bowing, scraping and blessings, spirited them throught the barrier and straight onto the next pod. So being a royal can have its advantages even though it's also quite an onerous responsibility in Africa.

Simple, you explain it just like you say here, in a very loud voice. Everyone 'stuck' with you will appreciate your sentiment, and if the queue jumpers hear they might just feel a touch of shame.

It doesn't hurt kids to learn early on that life isn't fair, as long as they are also taught that you can appreciate what you have and be happy.

(Although apparently our ability and willingness to queue only really came about during WW2, but that's far enough back for most people...)

EE are the parent company of Orange and TMobile. I have accounts with both EE and TMobile and have to get switched as I play daft. EE seems to have better call support although I am sure someone will have had issues..
There are direct numbers kicking about online which they have to supply (or had to at some point), they all seem to ask where you got them.
I won't pay....

Why should they? They've paid good money to jump the queue.
When we flew to Majorca we paid extra to 'fast track' through boarding. No standing in the line for over an hour, we were straight through within minutes.
