Not naming and shaming but trying to by a bike at £4000 and all I get is a salesman on the phone and me waiting and waiting.
Not going their again.

Or maybe I am an inpatient b...... ?

Usually the staff will ask if you need any assistance if you ahow an interst in something (and wont bug you too much if you are just in browsing), and are VERY helpfull if you want to lighten your wallet!!!

What's he supposed to do? Tell the caller to bugger off and slam down the phone just because you're waving 4k around? Be patient, wait your turn like everyone else.

Unless, of course, it's just one of 'those' salesmen who are genuinely not interested in serving someone. We had that once at a large car dealers. We went to another dealership in another town and bought 2.

It was all going good I was waiting for a quick fit check, then a customer came in he took preference, I waited, then as the fit test came about he got a phone call and I was waiting again.lol.

I was in the store at 9am trying to buy a bike, that is all, or could you enlighten me on etiquette in Giant stores,lol.

If they don't have enough staff to cope with the amount of customers, that is their problem; not the OP's.. In the same circumstances I would not be expecting priority treatment just because I was spending £4k (I don't think the OP has said that was expected either). It isn't the fault of the salesman either; just the modern way of staffing shops on a shoestring. I am not blessed with much patience for this sort of thing either, so despite the fact that it' s no-ones fault I would have walked out and gone elsewhere.
If you can't get good service when trying to buy a bike, what chance have you got if you need to take the bike back with a problem?

I think Giant stores are independents (like Specialized stores), so each one is a like a branded LBS (or like a brewery linked pub). I certainly got excellent attention at my local Giant store (Twickenham), which was a major factor in my choice of it to purchase my bike.

Edit: and come to think of it, I've rung them and they've not picked up, which is fine by me; if you are serving someone, it's reasonable to ignore the phone.

I am not trying to be a flash bastard with £4000 to spend on my dream bike I am from mining stock and this will probably be my last major bike purchase ever.

Apart from the odd accesory.lol.

There was two of them, the younger was a wealth of experience and a real nice guy, there is no hate here, but,..pissed off i couldn't get the deal done.

Maybe my impatience is my Achilles heel.
