Todays media have been banging on about this moving from BBC to Channel 4.

Don't watch much TV, and I've never seen it. Was it any good ?
(and I thought that the BBC had a strict anti-cycling policy)

The BBC has a tendency to commission over-rated simple formula shows involving either doing up property or cooking from independent production companies who b*gger off to where the most money is when the show becomes a hit. Personally, I'm fed up of this stuff and the BBC should go back to being more creative and giving us better TV than this tabloid crud. They're celebrating sitcoms from 40 years ago - will we even remember this show in ten years?.

They will be including reports of foreign tours. The first one will be about cycling across the Australian Outback. The participants described the weather as baking hot, and like cycling in an oven.

Cooking facilities were at a bare minimum, so one day, in desperate need of a dessert after a barbecue, they had ash tray bakes

If it is cold enough, do you have iced buns?

Yes and my family liked watching it together! I'm also a Bake Off fan, and even a Beeb fan. If it came down to it I would pay a subscription fee just to have the Beeb (yes I know I pay a licience fee already).

In all of these type of shows, "the thing" in this case baking, but in others, house improvement, gardening, jungle survival or living as our ancestors did, becomes irrelevant. The production crew focus almost exclusively on how contestants react to "the thing". The media folk who produce these shows have no interest in 'the thing" and an obsessive interest in facial reactions, interpersonal relations, rivalries and generally stirring up trouble between the contestants.

I heard it was because Paul Hollywood wanted to present the show in lycra.
